Shorts are a summer must for many of us... but what is the best way to style them over 40??
First things first, when it comes to picking out a great pair of shorts... I recommend looking for wider fit around the leg, high-quality fabrics, and a waistband that isn't too tight. This will help ensure your shorts have the most flattering fit. These Ted Baker high-waisted, D-belt shorts are a great example of a super flattering pair.
Once you have a great pair of shorts... you get to the fun part-- styling them! I’m sharing two simple ways to style your shorts this season …to feel both cool and confident.
Look #1 - A lightweight, flowy floral top is a staple piece to have in the summer... and this top by Ba&sh is so comfortable and chic! The sleeves have plenty of stretch, the fabric is super lightweight, and the lighter color is perfect for keeping cool. To complete this summer-ready look, I added a chic Rag and Bone Panama hat for sun protection and embellished sandals to elevate the look.
Look #2 - Another summer wardrobe staple is a gauzy, lightweight cotton button-up. If you've been around, you know I LOVE this Rails button-up ... that can also be worn as a swim cover-up. I use it so much that I bought two-- one in my regular size and one sized up for a more relaxed fit. This is one of my favorite tops for summer, because it provides great coverage and keeps you cool. With this look, I added a pair of glam sunglasses, small-heeled Marc Fisher slides with a gorgeous chain detail (majorly on-trend!), and some of my fave Julie Vos jewelry!
