I get to hug him today!!
What was a life defining moment that you had as a child?
Being away from my 10 year old during a pandemic was one of the harder things that I’ve had to do as a parent, but I’m thankful that we are so lucky to be able to give him the camp experience.
As an only child it’s hard to teach the type of socialization that comes with having a sibling, and camp allows us to give him that education along with so many other activities that he wouldn’t normally get to learn.
Camp is where I learned my life skills and I know it’s where he is learning his. It’s where I figured out how to co-exist with other humans, and how I ultimately was exposed to extending grace. (even if I didn’t realize it at the time)
It’s also where I built relationships that are still going strong 30+ years later. There’s something about sleep-away camp that builds a camaraderie that you don’t expect but are thankful to have.
Camp isn’t for everyone but it’s certainly for us! Just don’t talk to me about the laundry. 😂
