The last thing he told me by Laura Dave :: 9.5/10⭐️ this thriller follows Hannah Hall, newly wed of 1 year to Owen Michaels, and his 16 year old daughter Bailey (who wants nothing to do with her new stepmom). When the shop Owen works at goes under, and his boss is arrested, Owen disappears leaving a quick note to his wife “Protect Her” is all is says. After a visit from a US Marshal and the FBI, Hannah quickly realizes Owen isn’t who he said he is, and she has to struggle to find out what’s going on and where her husband is, while trying to win over Bailey. This book had me wanting more until the very end! I would have probably read it in a day if I had the time! I loved the character development. The ending totally had me tearing up a bit. This book goes to show the lengths one is willing to take for protection and love. 53. The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang :: 4/5⭐️ Stella’s mom is on her case about getting a boyfriend, getting married, and having babies. Stella has aspergers and is REALLY bad at being in a relationship and doing all the things couples in a relationship do, so she decides to hire a male escort to teach her. She hires Michael and realizes very early on that he is much different than any other male she has come into contact with. She starts to develop feelings for him, but this is all just because she hired him… right? There’s no way their fake relationship can turn into the real thing… I actually thought this book was really sweet. Spicier than I expected it to be, but really good! I love the story line and character development. Definitely recommend! I also read reviews saying that if you’re on the spectrum or suspected to be on the spectrum, this book is incredibly validating.

52. Throttled by Lauren Asher :: 3.5/5⭐️ Santiago is a formula 1 race car driver, his sister Maya has decided to document his journey all over the world by vlogging and uploading her videos. Santiago’s number one nemesis, and new teammate, is Noah, who just so happens to be very interested in Maya. This book was SPICY, but so cute! I loved Maya and Noah’s banter. I know nothing of Formula 1 racing, so that was a cool aspect as well.

51. 28 Summers by Elon Hilderbrand :: 4.75/5⭐️. WOW this was a good book. Reminiscent of November 9, this story follows Mallory Blessing who just inherited a cottage on Nantucket. She invites her brother and his friends for a bachelor party before his upcoming wedding where she meets Jake McCloud, her brother’s friend. The two hit it off and vow to meet up on Labor Day weekend every year. They vow to only call each other if one of them gets married or has a kid. Things change every year, but this last year things may change the most. I love that each summer starts with a “what are we talking about in..” so we know the events of that year. The character development is amazing and the writing style just pulls you in. I actually kind of liked the semi abrupt ending. It leaves some to the imagination. This was overall a great story and I recommend!

50. Gone Tonight by Sarah Pekkanen :: 4/5⭐️ it’s just been Catherine Sterling and her mom, Ruth Sterling, since forever, but now Catherine wants to start her life as a young woman. Ruth is starting to show signs of dementia, which she seems everyday since she works at a memory care center, so she has stay home and take care of Ruth. But Ruth is keeping secrets that Catherine knows nothing about. This twisty thriller jumps back and forth from past to present and from different POVs. It was very well written and had a great storyline.

49. Throne of Glass by Sarah J Mass :: 3/5⭐️ Celaena Sardothien is an assassin who got caught and is serving a life sentence. She is approached with an opportunity to quite literally fight for her freedom. Fight I’m duels with other assassins to the death. Guys I just COULD NOT get into this book, like at all. I gave it a 3 because I liked the last 10ish%. I thought this story would be similar to ACOTAR, which I loved, but it wasn’t. I’m giving myself 3 books, and if I still don’t like the series after that, I’m not finishing the rest. Also, not sure I started in the correct order of books. Assassins Blade is suggested, in some literature, to read first, I’ll be reading that one next though.

48. Unfortunately Yours by Tessa Bailey :: 4/5⭐️. Ok I liked this one so much better than the first book! This book follows Julian Vos’s sister, Natalie Vos. After losing her job and her fiance, Natalie heads back to Napa, where she is an heir to a very successful vineyard. She has an idea for a new business, but needs capital. Unfortunately, her trust can only be released once she is married and employed. August Cates, Navy Seal, and very unsuccessful Vintner, needs a loan as well, and with the Vos name in his corner, his vineyard could go from gag worthy to praise worthy. The two decide to tie the knot, for business reasons.. obviously. Outwardly they hate each other. Inwardly tho… you’ll have to read to find out. This one was spiccyyy. I loved the story line though. Still honestly not a fan of the narrator in the audio version. There was wit and banter and it was overall a good book! This could also be read on its own if you want to skip book 1!

47. The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams :: 4.5/5⭐️. A list of library books is all it takes. Mukesh’s wife died recently, and he finds a library book that they must have forgotten to return. When Mukesh goes to a local library to return it, he meets Aleisha, a moody 17 year old who was unnecessarily rude to Mukesh. Aleisha finds a mysterious list of books titled “in case you need it”, and she decides to go through the list and read them all. Feeling terribly about being rude to Mukesh, she starts recommending the books that she read from the list to him. They are both going through a tough time, and the books seem to be helping them in more ways than one. This heartwarming story was so so great! If you are a book lover, you’ll love it! There is a trigger warning, and I teared up at the end, but it was honestly, SO good! I listened to this on audio and the narration was amazing! I haven’t heard anyone talking about this book, and it deserves more attention!

46. Winter in Paradise by Elin Hilderbrand :: 4/5⭐️ Russel Steeles helicopter goes down on New Years Day after being struck by lightening somewhere between the British and US Virgin Islands. On board, his girlfriend and the pilot. Imagine the shock his wife gets when she hears the news. Irene heads down to St. John with her 2 sons, Baker and Cash to try to find out more. But they wind up finding out a lot more than they expected. First and foremost, I have found my next vacation destination: St. John in the USVI! Elin Hilderbrand just has this ability to make the destinations she writes about sound so enticing! I loved the mix of genres in this book, from a little bit of romance, to mystery, all weaved into an immersive story. It was just an all around good book! While the title may have you thinking this will be a holiday book, it absolutely is not. New Year’s Day is hardly a focal point. It’s actually more of a tropical book. I loved the ending and cannot wait to read book 2!

45. The Guest by B.A. Paris :: 3.75/5⭐️ Iris and Gabriel met years ago on a vacation and they are still close to this day. But it is a little odd that Laure is now in their house after she and her husband had a fight. Pierre doesn’t want to talk to Laure about their issues, or anyone for that matter.. Laure seems to be overstaying her welcome. and something just seems.. up.. I will hand it to this book, I did not guess the ending! Also loved the epilogue at the end! The plot reminded me of another book that I can’t think of the name of right now, it didn’t go in the same direction tho. Overall a good book, especially if you’re new to thrillers.

Terms and Conditions by Lauren Asher :: 4/5⭐️ the second installment in the Dreamland Billionaires series follows Rowan’s brother, Declan, as he fulfills his part of the inheritance clause by marrying and having the heir to the Dreamland empire. The only problem is that Declan hasn’t had a date in years. Iris, Declan’s assistant, volunteers for the marriage and kids job, as long as all the rules are followed. Everyone involved knows it’s all for show, but are they really ACTING in love..? This book was sweet and spicy! I love dynamic between Declan and Iris. I listened to this one on audio and the narration took a little bit to warm up to, but the plot of the book was great!

43. The Husbands Secret by Liane Moriarty :: 3.5/5⭐️. When Cecelia stumbles across a letter addressed to her from her husband, to only be opened in the event of his death, she is intrigued. He is still very much alive and doesn’t want her to open it because it contains his deepest, darkest, secret; and has the potential to impact more than just their lives. The repercussions of secrets are very apparent in this book. Ok, I LOVED the epilogue ending of this book! This added to the star rating. Otherwise the book, although well written, was longer than it needed to be IMO. I love the narrator or Liane Moriarty’s books tho! It has somewhat of a darker plot, especially towards the end, and I could see it being difficult for some people to read- literally can’t say anything more because it will ruin it.

42. Winter Street by Elin Hilderbrand :: 3.25/5⭐️. There is a lot going on in this shorter book and the family drama is full force. Kelley Quinn is the owner of Winter Street, a struggling Inn on Nantucket Island and his children come to visit for Christmas, each with their own problems. One of his children, Bart, from his second marriage, recently joined the marines and is away fighting in Afghanistan. Kelley’s first wife is a famous news anchor, and mother to his first 3 children. The book starts with Kelley walking in on his second wife kissing Santa Claus in one of the bedrooms. She quickly leaves with Santa, aka George, who she has been having an affair with for the past 12 years. The story takes place over about 3 days right around Christmas time. I had no idea where the story was going. While the questions were answered at the end of the book, it definitely left room for part 2. Some parts felt like a hallmark movie to me. I think this would have been a better story for December, but it was a take it or leave it book for me. Published in 2014, I already feel like it didn’t age well.

41. Good Bad Girl by Alice Feeney :: 4/5⭐️ a baby is stolen right from its stroller at the grocery store one night by an unidentifiable person. 20 years later a woman is murdered in a care home. The same care home where Patience works. Patience has grown very close to Edith who is trying to escape after being tricked into living at the Care Home. Somehow all of the characters are related but the twist at the end is something I never saw coming! This book was a little slow in the beginning and a little hard to follow because of all of the characters. But the ending was so good!

40. The Takeover by T.L. Swan :: 5/5⭐️ omg I loved this book! The second installment in the Miles High Club series focuses on Jameson’s brother, Tristan Miles. At a meeting where Claire Anderson is about to lose her late husband’s company to Miles Media, she meets Tristan Miles and to her shock and surprise, he calls her for a date a few days later. Their connection is undeniable. But Claire knows it’s just physical. Tristan has another idea about the status of their relationship though. After meeting her 3 sons, and their tricks, what does he think?? The banter was funny and sweet and I just loved this book so much! I fell in love with the characters and the storyline was perfect! I even teared up a bit at the end. It was definitely spicier than the first book, but not over the top. I can’t wait to read more of the series!

39. Bad Summer People by Emma Rosenblum :: 3.5/5⭐️ Lauren and Jason summer on Fire Island every year with the same group of people that Jason grew up with. This year there is so much more backing stabbing and lies and cheating and someone winds up dead. But who among the group of fire islanders is a murderer!? There was A LOT of characters to keep track of and if you don’t listen to a majority of this book in one sitting you will forget. It was a good book, but nothing crazy IMO. Kind of reminded me of “One of Us is Dead”. I didn’t get too much of a summery vibe, so if it’s not warm where you are yet, this one is still readable.

38. First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston :: 3.75/5⭐️. Evie Porter has a different kind of job, with a mysterious boss- Mr. Smith; she also has a whole different identity. So imagine her surprise when her real identity shows up at a derby party with a striking resemblance to her. Evie’s past is also coming back to haunt her. She must find the identity of Mr. Smith before it’s too late. This book was hyped up so much, and I thought the concept of this story was great; unfortunately I did not feel it lived up to the hype. I found the majority of the book kind of boring. Save for the twists at the end- that added some stars to my rating; but I still have questions about the last paragraph of the book, so if you read this, let’s chat!

Wylie Lark is a true crime writer who is staying at an farmhouse on the middle of nowhere, when a snowstorm hits - I know this is the plot to every winter thriller, but stay with me here! She notices a small child practically frozen to death very close to the house, so she brings the child in, but then she starts to notice things that just aren’t making sense. What happened to this child, and how did it wind up here? This one had me on the edge of my seat! The concurrent storyline was also so good! Overall amazing book and I highly recommend! I did guess one of the plot lines, but the story was just riveting!

36. Elon Musk by Walter Isaacson :: unrated. This biography gives the whole inside story of billionaire Elon Musk. I must say, as someone who doesn’t know much about Elon Musk, I really enjoyed this book, and was surprised by some of it! The first half of this book was Elon’s early life, the last half was more recent years, so these are a lot more detailed. I did really enjoy it though!

Not at all what I was expecting. It’s kind of fantasy, in the sense that there is a made up world with made up creatures, but it’s also, like not fantasy, if that makes sense lol. I loved the storyline, and the whole concept of the letter exchanges, and was SO invested! I read this book so fast and now I need to read the sequel. It didn’t end the was I was expecting either! This one had my heart pounding and I was gasping and just waiting for what was coming next! Phew! Go read this book! (It’s free on kindle unlimited!)

But who is the murderer?? Although this book had lots of twists, and I kept reading because I needed to find out what was happening, I was kind of didn’t love the ending. It kind of left me “wait, what!?”, and I’m not sure how I feel about that. However, I did NOT guess the culprit 😂

Jack also just so happens to be the one single person who ruined her entire field. Elsie is up for a coveted position at MIT, and Jack is one of the people on the hiring committee. She wants this job, nay, NEEDS this job. But what, or who, is standing in her way? I’m going to be honest, I did not like the beginning of this book, I felt it was trying too hard, but the last half was SO good! I loved the banter between the characters and the overall vibe. The ending was really sweet. I laughed out loud multiple times, and LOVED all of the twilight references. It did get a little spicy in the last half.

32. Little Secrets by Jennifer Hillier :: 4.75/5⭐️. It’s 3 days before Christmas and Marin is walking thru the shops with her 4 year old son, Sebastian, in tow. Derek, her husband calls, and when she looks down, her son is gone. Just like that Marin’s life changes forever. 16 months later, Sebastian is still missing, but the case has gone cold and it seems like her life is falling apart even more when the private investigator she hired to help find her son, discovers that her husband is cheating on her. But while she can’t find her son, she can fix this new problem. HOLY MOLY! This book was SOO good!!! I listened on audio and the last 30ish% had me so hooked!! Can not recommend this enough! If you have young kids, maybe skip it because the beginning scenes were scary, but omg it was so good! The entire book I kept trying to guess where it was going and how it would end! Plot twist, I actually did not guess haha
