Shelf styling made easy!

1. Use the rule of three.
Group objects in sets of three with varying heights (for example: a small stack of books, a medium vase, and a taller sculptural piece). Odd-number groupings feel more natural and balanced.

2. Leave breathing room.
The biggest mistake with shelves is overfilling them. Let some space stay empty so the pieces you do place feel intentional and curated.

3. Add one organic element like a small plant, olive branch or driftwood piece. It softens the neutrals and keeps the shelves from feeling too structured.

4. For neutral shelves, mix textures, not colors .
When everything is neutral, texture becomes the interest. Layer items like woven baskets, ceramic vases, linen books, wood beads, and stone objects so the shelf feels rich without adding color.
