I was reminded after showing this staircase in my stories that I haven’t done an official reveal! When we bought our house, this staircase was walled off, making the kitchen and living room very separated (scroll for before!). We removed the bar and lifted the ceiling to open the spaces up together. The result is open sight lines and way better use of space! We also decided last minute to continue the hardwood through the living room and I’m so glad we did.
