In other planters, I’ve used empty water bottles with the lid on it so the bottle doesn’t get crushed once the dirt is over it. It will take more space that way. Others have used the empty containers the plants came in.

Little porch refresh, big impact! Sharing my planter formula, a money saving fill hack, and the prettiest plants for that full, layered look. I put the bucket in open side down. Cut the noodles into about 5 inch pieces and placed around and over the bucket. I used 4 pool noodles for each planter.
