1. button down shirts for easy nursing
2. this carrier >> a cross between a wrap & a buckle carrier (HAYDEN10 saves you)
3. portable sound machine — how did I not use one of these with my first?
4. my emotional support water bottle

I remember feeling so overwhelmed with my first baby, not knowing what I needed/wanted in terms of clothes— do I need 5 sleepers or 15??? i've learned that more stuff is wildly overstimulating for my mental health, especially postpartum, and keeping baby clothes/gear as simple as possible helps me feel better! this is everything in baby girl's closet for 0-3 months old (from a mom
who's first baby wore newborn clothes until 12 weeks!) — I also shared a newborn version of this video already on my page, featuring our preemie + newborn sized clothes
I'm also planning on grabbing two pairs of tights for under the dresses & onesies that can double as extra pants! — some of my finds are thrifted, so i’ve linked the new items I have + other similar styles here

everyone says "don't buy many newborn things, they'll grow right out of them" & that may be true OR if your babies are like mine & stay small, they may wear newborn clothes for a little while longer than the average. either way, i'm keeping our newborn selection super simple and practical (because less is truly more in those postpartum days when everything takes up your mental space!!!)
here's the list i've been working off of if you need some help keeping things minimal
- 8-10 sleepers (I mixed in preemie & newborn sizes because my firstborn was in newborn clothes until 12 weeks!)
- 4-6 onesies/outfits
- 2-3 hats
- 2 outerwear/jackets
I also have a separate capsule of 0-3 month clothes that will likely overlap a bit depending on baby girl's size & the (very) inconsistent Virginia weather.

I thrift a lot of clothes, so i’ve linked some exact clothes i could find + similar styles!
