People always ask what it’s like to be a traveling designer for coastal homes. It starts with the earliest flight, a packed suitcase, and a rental car waiting at the airport. Then the real work begins. Shopping runs. Styling days. Hanging artwork. Moving furniture. Solving problems. Managing time so every hour counts. The days move fast because there is so much to bring together in a short window. My favorite way to design is what I call immersive design. When I stay in the home I’m working on, I can fully unfold the space, shop, style, adjust, and quietly execute every detail. It allows the home to come together naturally and intentionally. I’ve done more than 10 of these trips already, traveling to places like Hilton Head and Florida to design coastal homes, luxury properties, and rental refreshes. And when I finally get home… there’s usually a suitcase still open on the floor for a few days. Travel always leaves me a little scattered when I get back to real life, but it’s the best kind of feeling. I’m usually still riding the high of the work, the travel, and seeing the spaces come together. Always grateful for the opportunity to design beautiful homes in places like Hilton Head and Florida.
