You know when you find something that’s too good to be true and reality is far from what you see on social media?

Take me for example. I look like a normal, put together person that exceeds the basic hygienic needs...but catch me on the weekends when I wear the same black leggings and oversized tie dye sweatshirt from Target. Self manicure is hard, and when you do it for years, you literally have no issue rolling around in your own filth on the weekends, avoiding putting in the slightest effort. No, just me? Okay.

This make-up eraser lets me, you, your drunk college roommate, anyone put in the least amount of effort to complete the same result if you were to put in the max amount of effort: take off your make-up.

In college I never took off my make-up before going to bed, and on the small chance that I actually went to class, there was a bigger chance I was wearing the same make-up from the night before.

Fast forward to today, where there’s a 50/50 chance that I actually take off my make-up at night. Hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day. But, I would be lying if I said that this cloth wasn’t the reason I will actually take off my make-up. You literally only use water and the magic witchcraft-ery TAKES. IT. ALL. OFF.

Plot Twist: I don’t just use these for my face. What?! Yes. Well, I still use these on my face, too.

Hear me out: use these on your underarms. Crazy right? Not crazy.

I originally started using these for my upper lip and to touch up my eyebrows because I’m a busy (see: lazy) human that can’t always make routine appointments. Enter: the Tinkle face razors.

To the people that say that shaving your upper lip will just make the hair grow back thicker, I call BS because I’ve been doing this for years and there’s no difference. Actually, there is a difference because I noticed I wouldn’t get random tiny breakouts after threading or waxing appointments.

Now for the holy grail - the under arms. This I’ve also done for a couple years and when I tell you this is the closest shave I’ve ever gotten, guys this is the real deal.

Be careful because this is essentially a straight razor. I’ve had ZERO irritation, lighter and brighter underarms and zero bumps. If you get irritation from your regular razor, it costs you next to nothing to try these out - it’s $6.95 for a 4-pack containing 3 razors on @amazon . That’s 12 of these guys for $7 and I have ordered this multiple times.

I use separate ones for my face and underarms, and use for a week before I replace them (from daily use). They last longer than a week, but I always like to start each week clean. After each use, I run them under hot, hot water, replace the safety cap and put away for the next day’s use.

People use these for their entire face, and I’ll get there one day but I just don’t have that kind of time to commit. I can only imagine how smooth makeup goes on to those that dermaplane their entire face. That’s the ultimate self-care.

Hot Tip: keep one stashed in your car for times when you look in the mirror of truth and realize you desperately needed an upper lip appointment like 3 days ago.

Don’t get too crazy now and try to use them on your legs or bikini area - learn from my mistake.

Before the dreaded 2020 #maskne, I never struggled with acne and intense breakouts (hashtag blessed). What I’ve always had issues with is rough skin texture. No matter how many face scrubs and exfoliation I tried, I never could achieve that baby smooth skin. My skin also turns red easily so all the abrasive scrubs I was using was not doing me well either. This product has gotten me the closest in achieving smooth skin.

Fair warning, this product burns for about the first 3 minutes. This came as a shock when I used it for the first time, but the baby smoothness that came after what looked like the Kim K blood facial was worth every penny of the $7 I spent on this.

I was most impressed with how well my makeup went on the next day after using this. Smooth like butta.

I have moderately sensitive skin and had no allergic or sensitivity issues (other than the slight burn for the first few minutes). But beauty is pain, right? Kidding, it wasn’t painful.

Back when we were in peak pandora/panorama/pomegranate, my neighborhood pool did not open and while I was livid, (because how does the pool not open at all for the summer season, but our HOA dues go up to OVER $300 a MONTH) I still needed to have *some* color.

Hey, when we all worked from home for a period, I started the “experimenting” phase of my life. While we discovered newfound passions (I found a new skincare routine, Mr. P started gardening, yada yada) I decided to take the plunge and try to tan myself since the sun nor a professional was at my disposal.

After watching TikTok for way too many hours (honestly, it was embarrassing) I kept seeing this tanning water get rave reviews. So, I decided to try it out since I had nothing to lose (because if it came out bad, it’s not like anyone in the public would see.)

I ordered the “Own Your Glow Kit” that Isle of Paradise had exclusively at Sephora. I wanted to try both and I needed the tanning mitt, too.

Best decision ever for at-home tanning. Here’s what I love:

💕 Goes on clear (no mess)
💕 Doesn’t transfer onto clothing, furniture or bedsheets
💕 Didn’t come out orange or streaky

I would apply this the same way you would apply self tanner, left yourself air dry for ~10 minutes and then wash it off the next morning.

I’ve since used this so many times that my last time using it I ended up finishing out the mist bottle. The last time I used this was this past Saturday for a nice Easter Brunch glow to go with my bright green dress. I received so many compliments that the dress “made me look so tan” but really it was the tanning water that did the trick.

It’s natural, it gives you a glow and it’s 100% worth the buy (in my bold opinion).

Loved it; will but again; would recommend to a friend.

The best, mess-free, on-the-go, cuticle balm

This weekend I got my hair and forehead done, so not only was I strapped on cash due to two very expensive maintenance appointments, but I was done sitting around to get said maintenance done. Thus begun the journey of “Bri attempts to do her nails…again.”

Y’all have heard me bitch, moan and complain about doing my own nails, just about as much as I do about actually going to a nail appointment. There’s nothing more I hate than sitting for an hour plus at a nail salon. It’s not relaxing to me, it’s a chore and I hate it as much as folding laundry. But this isn’t a rant post, so I’m going to quit while I’m ahead.

When I do go to the nail salon, I’m very much a “No oil for me, thank you” gal because I hate nothing more than to leave the salon with a handful of oil to get all over my handbag, clothes, etc. Sorry, ranting again. Focus, Bri…

So because I hate the cuticle oil at salons, I end up with not only terrible, dry cuticles, the skin under my nails will continuously peel due to how fragile my neglected skin becomes. Not only does this hurt, but it looks ugly and screams that I have an anxiety skin-picking/nail biting problem (and I choose to keep my anxiety to myself, thankyouverymuch).

This cuticle balm has saved my hands from the shame they used to be. It looks like a giant lip balm, applies with ease, goes on like an oil and fully absorbs into your skin before you know what to even do with yourself. Literally it absorbs quicker than it takes for me to bitch about having oil on my hands. So, now it’s one less worry and one less thing I have to complain about.
