The next piece of sentimental decor is this red paper star that tops my Memories Tree. I got it while living in India for two years after college… These paper stars were lit outside of people’s homes during the holidays to indicate if they were a believer. I love to bring it out each year and top my tree with it.

There’s nothing quite like gathering around a beautifully set table to celebrate the season with friends who make work feel like family. Last week, I hosted a luncheon for my coworkers, and it was a festive blend of vintage charm, meaningful details and holiday cheer! 🎄✨

I set the table with my treasured Fitz and Floyd Winter Holiday china, layered over a gorgeous pink and green block print tablecloth from @lovely_lady_linens. The centerpiece was a silver vessel of blooming paperwhites (my favorite winter flowers!) surrounded by a chinoiserie tray of vintage ornaments for a touch of sparkle.

To thank my team for their hard work this year, I gifted each with their own potted paperwhite bulb nestled in a thrifted sherbet cup. I loved sharing one of my favorite holiday traditions with them.

We enjoyed finger foods, salad, punch and coffee. It was a sweet, simple reminder that the best part of the holidays is connecting with those who bring joy to our lives.

This time of year, I love bringing out my treasured Christmas china patterns—each with a story of its own. I set out to create a breakfast tablescape at my kitchen table, and it was fun to mix and match and “play” with my pretties. My three Christmas patterns perfectly blend color, beauty and sentimentality, and I love to use them all throughout the season..

🎁 Fitz & Floyd Winter Holiday: Starting at age 15, my mom gifted me a place setting each Christmas, and I’m so grateful that she picked one she knew I’d love forever!
🤝 Johnson Brothers Old Britain Castles Christmas: In 2019, my best friend Anna started this collection for me, and it truly is lovely. It becomes my everyday china during the Christmas season.
❤️ Arita Tartan Plaid: Every Christmas morning, my family gathered around the table for breakfast served on these dishes—a tradition I hope to continue forever.

What makes these patterns even more special? They mix beautifully with each other and with other patterns in my dish collection, like classic Blue Willow or simple white dishes. Mixing heirlooms with everyday patterns creates a table full of stories and style.

✨🌸Ever Surprising the Night… Like a Christmas Amaryllis 🌸✨

Sometimes beauty breaks through in the most unexpected moments—right in the middle of winter, when everything feels still and dormant. My “Blooming Peacock” amaryllises have been slowly opening their petals, and even though only one bloom popped during this time-lapse (and wasn’t facing the camera!), its delicate beauty reminds me of hope and light breaking through the dark.

The lyrics of Christy Nockels’ Amaryllis always come to mind when these flowers grace my home at Christmas — reminding me that the Joy of Every Longing Heart came to bring Light and Hope in the darkness.

This ornament storage organizer was an inspired buy in early 2022. It holds so many ornaments and tons of other decorative items, too! They don’t have the green anymore, but it comes in black and red.

It all began when I was 16, and Mama gave me my first @christopherradkoco ornament— a beautiful keepsake to mark each Christmas. Every year after, she added to my collection, making each ornament a tiny time capsule for the year.

When she passed away, my best friend Anna picked up where Mama left off, giving me one for my collection each year. It’s a tradition that keeps her spirit alive, reminding me of how she loved the magic of Christmas. How she WAS the magic of Christmas.

Now, I get to pass that joy forward, too. Every Christmas, I select Radko ornaments for my brother and his family, for my dad and his wife and for Anna to carry on the tradition. It’s a way of saying, “I see you, I treasure you and I want you to have a piece of this legacy too.”

Besides my vintage Shiny Brite tree and the India tree, I have what I call my “memories tree.” It is full of stories — each ornament a chapter in the book of my life, my family and my friendships. It’s proof that even in loss, love finds a way to keep growing.

Also, this song from Home Alone always makes me cry.

Tree # 2 — in the dining room — is up! This is the tree I usually put my vintage ornaments on. But since I upgraded that tree, I thought it would be a great size to add some Christmas glow to a corner of the dining room. 💫 The @balsamhill Frosted Alpine Fir is potted up in an Amazon Chinoiserie planter. Almost all the ornaments are from my time living in India for two years after college — some Kashmiri papier-mâché and some blown glass from a trip to Egypt. I added some gold mercury glass to fill it up a little more!
