When I first saw this ziplock bag organizer I knew I had to have it. For whatever reason, the depth of my kitchen drawer just seems to be too shallow for most ziplock boxes so they get chewed up each time I pull open the drawer. This looks good and serves a purpose. When it comes to air travel, I typically wear a pair of jeans, a tee, and a blazer. BUT our family recently embarked on a very long trip to Vietnam and China, which involved quite a bit more strategy when it came to my outfit selections... including my travel outfit! I only took ONE carry-on suitcase, so saving space, comfort, and functionality were top of mind when choosing what to wear.

If you have a long travel day coming up, follow these simple steps to build the perfect travel outfit:

1 | Assemble a Comfortable Base Layer - Think lightweight breathable fabrics, stretchy pants, and supportive shoes in versatile, neutral colors.
2 | Add a Neutral Sweater - This sweater should also be very breathable. You want something that will keep you warm if you get chilly on the plane, but nothing that will make you overheat. I love how breathable and soft my Varley sweater was.
3 | Layer a Blazer - You could also choose another elevated layer, but a chic blazer can easily make an otherwise very casual travel outfit feel polished and pulled together. The blazer I wore looked great with my travel look but I also wore it on the trip over shorts and a tee, with dresses, and with pants and tops.
5 | Add a scarf - I'm always cold on airplanes, so I like to add a scarf as an additional layer. It can also double as a thin blanket too.

Here’s what I love about each of these pieces…
1 | The white button-down is a perfect example of a classic basic with a modern twist. The cropped fit is very flattering, and the short sleeves with button-tab cuffs feel really utilitarian and cool.
2 | This brown belt has been a heavy hitter since the moment I got it. The oval gold belt buckle is timeless in its design. It’s just a really lovely versatile basic to have in your closet.
3 | It’s not often you can find a pair of denim shorts that fit well, feel super comfortable, are flattering, have a great wash/design, and are affordable… but these check all the boxes!!! If you buy one pair of shorts this season, this is the pair to buy!
4 | A light neutral blazer is a sophisticated layer that adds instant polish to any outfit… and it’s the perfect basic to carry for when you are in an air-conditioned building and need something to throw over your shoulders in the summertime.

The one-shoulder neckline adds a dash of sexy and modernity to the dress. It has a flattering smocked bodice that feels very secure. Depending on your comfort level and size of your bust, you can even wear it with or without a strapless bra. There’s also a thin grip strip at the top that helps keep it in place, so you don’t have to worry about tugging or pulling. The blazer is SO good because of its sophisticated details like the luxe gold buttons and structured, padded shoulders. The shoulders create width across the top, which in contrast with the tailored waist, gives the illusion of a smaller waist. The cotton blend fabric is thick enough to provide structure but is also quite breathable and lightweight for those who run hot. Since this blazer is denim, you can style it multiple ways: casually for lunch or dress it up for work or dinner.

In this look, I styled the blazer with one of my favorite basic white tees by ATM, a pair of cropped white jeans by L’Agence, and some neutral Sam Edelman pumps. Pairing the blazer with whites and light neutrals like this feels so fresh and springy.
