This was so fun to shoot again. This time we went to a theological university campus (University of Redlands in Marin, I think?) that looks like a fucking castle and found THE MOST Lord of the Rings corner of the grounds literally possible. Just bonkers. It was so cool.

Some delicious detail shots~ I love the idea of Knightlita because it mixes so many traditionally hard and sharp textures with delicate, gentle and ethereal fabrics, themes and textures. I love how it plays with and reflects light and absorbs it all at the same time. This is far from its final iteration! And I’m excited to see how it continues to change over the years of revisiting and crafting it. This particular iteration is the brainstorming of myself, Ory and Molly all getting ready together and just having fun. It was such a great afternoon 🥺💕

i truly dream of days where i can run around with massive bastard swords in giant fluffy dresses, dunno about u…some final very ethereal shots from Ory’s incredible eye and some goofy goobin ones too, because boy howdy did we look silly that day! The man who stopped us to ask us if we were getting married will never not make me laugh my ass off or fill my heart with complete joy.
Shooting this with Ory was probably the most fun I’d had in a while. I know I’ve said it a million times, but getting to see their photography skills grow and improve over the last year or so of shooting consistently with them has been so amazing. We both really unlocked some very artistic parts of ourselves with this shoot in particular, and I’m super stoked for them to show their shots off soon too!

When I first conceptualized knightlita, I knew I wanted it to take pose inspiration from ballet. To me, that sport is just the pinnacle of femininity and elegance. Because this look is particularly hyperfeminine against more masculine-associated themes with the armor and weapon inspirations, playing with juxtaposition was really fun and exciting.

I’m not really one to mix metals, but for this look I’m actually not mad about it. The reason we did was because my headpiece has gold! The one that was designed to go with this dress is just white. But the one I’m wearing from a Chinese handmade artist is gold, black, white and navy! It has gold trim and stars all over it! My friends and I tied in the stars with a constellation necklace too.

I had so much fun styling this wig for this shoot! I used the white rose pins that came with my dress set and some fake navy roses, as well as real dried baby’s breath flowers to decorate my braids within my braid! I love this specific wig for that look as it’s very long and quite unwieldy if I wear it unstyled.
