Men need to shine too on Derby Day!
A classic seersucker jacket is always in style, but you better get it now or they will sell out before the big day arrives!
A classic suit is also a great choice!
If your seats are on the 4th, 5th or 5th Floors, no denim allowed, so get your wardrobe in order!

A day at the races is fun, however, being at the track all day outdoors in a dressy outfit with unpredictable weather can be daunting.
Life is much easier if you prepare ahead of time with a few essential items!
1. If wearing heels, walk from parking to the track in flip flops. Change into your regular shoes once you are at your seats! You will want to opt for rain boots if it is a rainy day!
2. Emergency sewing kit and add some safety pins and Bobbie pins. Straps break, buttons pop and hats fly! Be prepared
3. Clear rain poncho! Get these early! I searched and search one year the day before Derby and people were selling them at 10.00-20.00 off the street. Normally only 2.00-3.00.
4. Rain cover for your hat! Get one! Those hats can cost quite a bit and feathers and rain are not a good mix.
5. Clear bag. While not required, it can make entry much easier.
6. Small first aid kit for blisters, stubbed toes and headache meds.
These items will lend to a more enjoyable Derby Day should life’s little emergencies arise.

The 1st Saturday in May is right around the corner and that means Kentucky Derby & hats!
I’m a Kentucky girl and my collection of hats is large.
I shuffle back and forth between full hats and fascinators.

I can’t bear to sell them and have been able to re-wear and loan them many times over the years!

We are heading to the Kentucky Derby & I’m sharing some essentials for comfort throughout the day!
Along with the hat, you’ll want some comfy shoes for walking from your parking space to the track.
There is lots of cobblestone, so change to your pretty shoes once you’re at your seat.
Safety pins, bandages, headache medication, dress tape and hair ties also come in handy in this cute little kit.
Clear ponchos and a hat protector for that unpredictable weather!
