Still planting all the fun things. (Comment SHOP for links) Even in the heat.

I did finally put my tomatoes in the ground, but the weather is going to be crazy hot this week so we will see how they do.

@olsons_greenhouse_gardens is pulling out all the stops with perennial deliveries to Home Depot stores right now.

So many pretty summer blooming varieties that they have tested and trialed for drought tolerance and high UV. Oh and also tons of blooms. 😂

I’m planning to give them all some @bughut to help with the transplant and heat shock. I have a link with a promo code in my bio. If you want to check it out I love it.

And if you have a set up for shade cloth, you might want it up for a little bit. I will be sure to link that also.

Comment EW if you want the links sent to you for organic and synthetic peony, hydrangea, and rose care.

The first three are earwig options, and the last is for weevils

I’m personally treating things intentionally around my garden and not letting it get too deep in my head.

Leaf damage is annoying but honestly I always have a lot of it and my garden is still gorgeous to me so I treat just enough to minimize the problem.

Make sure you follow along because there’s actually one more step to getting rid of weevils in the fall and you’ll want to be here for that. 💚👏

Are the leaves on your plants turning crispy and browning?

You might be getting sun scald on your plants and a sun shade can help.

(Comment shop if you need a link to my exact sun shade.)

I’ve loved using this one for my tomatoes and raspberries. It’s a super affordable option and it does great in my crazy wind.

The high UV here in Utah can really wreak havoc on your plants in the summertime.

Some days the UV can reach as high as 13! 🫢💀☀️

So I have found that popping this up in July and August has done wonders for the growth of my plants.

I never really cared much about UV until moving to the Salt Lake Valley in Utah where our elevation changes everything.

But if your plants are struggling, it might not just be you, it could be too much sun!
Utah July garden tour — mid-summer blooms, mature roses, and a few surprises that pulled through the wind.

If you’re in zone 7a or anywhere with high heat, alkaline soil, and unpredictable weather, this is proof that a beautiful garden is still possible.

Sweet Mademoiselle is between bloom cycles, but still showing off enough to earn her keep.

Mother of pearl is short but punches way above her weight — repeat blooms, great fragrance, and never complains.

Fourth of July is the first tomato to ripen in my garden every year, and it’s perfect for short growing seasons like ours.

The kale’s hanging on and pretending it’s not 90 degrees, so we’re just letting it live.

I planted wave petunias in a dozen colors this year, and honestly?

Zero regrets.
The color, the coverage, the drama — it’s exactly what a summer garden needs.

This yard isn’t perfect.

But it’s mine.

And every bloom is proof that it’s worth showing up and planting again.

Save this for your summer garden layout inspo.

Or come back to it when you need a reminder that roses, vegetables, and petunias can all play nicely together.

Planted my annuals a touch late this year. 😂👏 But if you’re on my same timeline in Utah - you still have lots of time to enjoy them!

Check out my petunia 101 guide in my bio if you need help with caring for and planting petunias.

All of mine were grown locally by @olsons_greenhouse_gardens for Home Depot and Walmart stores.
Costco hydrangea growing “long” video just dropped. 💖

It’s on the “other platform” that cannot be named. Rhymes with You schmoob.

Can we talk about how mqgical the @olsons_greenhouse_gardens hydrangea rooms are?!?

I love these big leaf florist hydrangeas and grow them as annuals every year.

Mine last clear until November. And I love watching them change colors into fall!

@olsons_greenhouse_gardens grows a variety for @Costco and @homedepot stores that I’ve grown to be very vocal about loving. 🥰 (you can find these there if you’re lucky!)

More hydrangea videos and care content coming soon!

Tell me all your questions so I can make you a reel and long video!

And if you have some that need help, make sure you watch the long video I just posted!

*And if you are short on time, check out my Petunia, 101 guide for all my petunia hacks! It has cliff notes, shopping guides, pest control, easy fertilizing, fast planting information, and more in an easy to read guide.

WRITTEN BY ME with blood, sweat and literal tears. Because I hate writing, but you need this information. 😂 This is the info an old granny passes down to her children secretly. But I wrote it all up and added stunning photos just for youuuuuuu. And it’s worth every freaking penny and more. 👊🥰

My petunias get planted in carefully SAVED spaces 😂 because they are glorious and deserve the royal treatment.

In 2023 I planted @provenwinners supertunias in jazzberry and bubblegum in all my front beds/planters.

I really loved the habit of the jazzberry petunia - it is so round and cute!

I love the way jazzberry petunia made little round shapes in between my daffodil clumps. 😍 It definitely won my heart for cuteness!

Bubblegum was cute too, but it has a more sprawling habit so it looks a little crazy at first 😜 but we all know I am OK with that. 👏

She fills in like a BOSS in no time at all.

You want to leave your daffodil bulb leaves for at least seven weeks for big daffodils next year.

I tried five weeks and they were just meh. Seven weeks + is the ticket. 🎟️

I will be posting more videos on how I trim and deadhead my daffodils, so stay tuned for those.

And as always, thanks for being here. I check comments for an hour a day, feel free to help answer questions for the garden fam. 🥰 I appreciate you. 💚🫶🏼🫡

*DMs are spotty these days - they give me anxiety??? Obviously not from you, but it’s like opening a punch in the face sometimes, so it’s definitely hit or miss from me. 😮‍💨🫶🏼

I’ve been using these self-watering planters for 15 years, and they still look like new.

They’re one of the easiest upgrades you can make if you want healthy flowers with less work.

The built-in water reservoir helps protect your plants from both overwatering and underwatering.

If you’re planting annuals or perennials this season, start with the right planter and build from there.

Need help choosing plants or knowing how to feed and protect them?

My Petunia 101 guide walks you through everything from organic and synthetic fertilizer options to pest control and flower care.

It’s perfect for beginners who want a beautiful, low-maintenance summer garden.

All my gorgeous plants @olsons_greenhouse_gardens 😍 from @homedepot and @walmart 🧡💙

This is my 4th summer as an ambassador for them and I couldn’t be more excited.

My best secret for pretty flowers is the planter you put them in.

Gardening doesn’t have to be hard if you have the right tools!

I’ve used these for 15 years now and mine still look brand new. They are “self watering” which means if you fill them they will protect against over and under watering.

If you need help with feeding, plant selection and pest control check out my petunias 101 guide on my website! Works great for both organic or synthetic beginner gardeners looking to plant annuals. (And perennials!).

My favorite July 4th holiday decor.

Best part? They’re mostly “semi solids” not “hero prints” which means you can mix and match them for other holidays too!

Easy to store, and pieces are easy to use for other holidays too! 4th of July is my favorite holiday so we go all out. 🇺🇸 #july4th #4thofjuly
