For this tablescape I wanted to play with only neutral white florals I could find blooming in my yard. Found white lilacs, apple blossoms, & flaming silver pieris. Love adding a small vase at each seat to make everyone feel special!

I was born in Germany 55 years ago today. I moved to the US when I was 1. When I went on a trip to Germany with my dad in my mid 20’s my mom sent me along with some money to buy something special from the place I was born. I chose this beautiful embroidered tablecloth. I grew up with my mom adorning our table with a very similar one & could think of nothing more I could want for my own. As an empty nester myself now I see that there is nothing more beautiful than watching your children grow up in the cozy cocoon you created & then watching them take flight! Love seeing all the amazing places my children have gone! (And sometimes tagging along with them!)

I decorate my home with beautiful everyday essentials that I actually use. Love having a tray on my kitchen table so I can easily clear it away for a puzzle, art project or game night. Here is the recipe we used - perfect for a day you are hanging around the house watching Christmas movies!
Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Top with thin orange, lemon, & lime slices in a single layer. Bake until the peels are dry and the flesh is translucent, about 2 1/2 hours.

We were inspired by our trip to Chicago and our seat at the bar @cindysrooftop to make our own oven dried citrus fruit this holiday season. We wanted it primarily for our bar set up but also had fun using them as decor, in our centerpieces, & at our place settings. Did two settings of this table- one with bells & red berries earlier this week & this one with orange slices. Save for next year’s Thanksgiving or Christmas table setting.
