Are you hosting this year? Here are the things I do ahead of time to make the holiday more enjoyable & less stressful. 1. Iron the tablecloth 2. Polish any Silver 3. Clean Glassware 4. Set Table 5. Create Centerpiece (add fresh flowers closer to the occasion) 6. Make a grocery list 7. Shop for non-perishables. 8. Clean the house and bathrooms. Add fresh flowers and seasonal towels to the bathroom. 9. Clean sheets and get guest rooms ready. 10. Make things that can be made ahead of time. (Cranberry sauce, pies) 11. Day or two before shop for perishables 12. 6. Get out all serving containers and serving utensils I am going to use for each dish 13. Day before do any prep possible -cut vegetables for roasting, make mashed potatoes (reheat in crockpot), make stuffing (hint make extra and freeze for chicken meals) 14. Day of: put turkey in oven, prep appetizers, roast veggies, reheat mashed potatoes, make gravy. What do you do in advance? Save for tablescape inspo and hosting tips.
