One day when doing laundry I just decided to go for it! Is it perfect? No! Does it make me happy when I do laundry? A resounding yes!
Things I could have done differently:
1. Ordered new wallpaper. I used what I had left from another project. This is Lillian by @paintedpaper Love it in here!
2. Measured height BEFORE I cut- luckily I was spot on! Those estimation skills coming in handy in my 50’s!
3. Had my husband move the washer dryer unit so I wasn’t working in such a tight space! I wanted to see how long it would took him to notice I did it! So I made it work, barely!
4. Had someone spot me! No one was home. Love that our washer and dryer is on second floor between all our bedrooms BUT we have two sets of stairs on either side of that landing and my ladder was moving with my effort!
5. Waited for a cooler day & worn a hat! I was a sweaty mess!
6. Regrets? None! I was really proud of myself. I kept thinking wow I really don’t give up! It was one of the hardest projects I have done all by myself. Would I do it again? Yes, but only if I had the washer and dryer moved out of the way! I love this LG set but there is not a lot of wiggle room in here!

We didn’t know we could relax more at the lake until we got these chaise lounges! There is something about putting your feet up that forces you to slow down, read a book, watch the birds, take it all in. There is no reason to jump up and do the next thing on your to do list! Love to shop my home & my yard to give a corner of my home a mid-summer refresh. It doesn’t take a lot to change the mood of of a space! The simplest way to do it is

1. Change pillow colors to reflect the season. Pillow covers barely take up any space and have such a big impact on the mood and feel of a room. All of these pillows from @fabdivinehome are gorgeous! Love the hand blocked patterns, designs and colors. So many gorgeous ones to choose from!

2. Switch out your bowl filler. I love to use natural items you would find outside in each season. These are shells, stones & coral I have collected over the years on trips to the beach.

3. Change out florals. Real or faux florals that reflect the seasons make such a big impact in a room!

Bing, bang, boom! A kitchen isn’t complete until it is organized! So much that goes into a functioning workable kitchen is the organization inside the cabinets. All that empty space but no organization system makes it hard to find what you need! I’ve always had storage bins in my pantry to organize similar items together. I wanted them to match and wanted more of them. Love these that I ordered from Amazon- come flat-packed but super simple to put together. Instant organization for my baking supplies, snacks & pantry essentials. Love that they add some warmth to my white kitchen too! Where would you use these baskets?!

It’s official! After a month with our Mellow pillows and blanket we are sleeping better, longer and more comfortably than we have in years!

We also wake up with Brandy in our bed every day! Apparently sleeping between mom & dad is THE spot! She loves our new Mellow cooling comforter too and how we sleep through the night and don’t notice she snuck in!

Loved helping our client fall in love with her new beach house bedroom! We had fun shopping for a new rug, bedding, bedside table, lamp, art, decor and plants to pull this space together. The hat wall is made of all the hats she buys every time she goes on a beach vacation and forgets to pack one 😂! Now that she is living at the beach she can just grab one off her wall! Throwback: the DIY patio we built in 3 parts all while our girls were little! Part of our series of things we do ourselves that other’s would hire out. Is a work ethic inherited or learned? Love these wireless wall sconces we got for our lake cottage! So simple to put together, easy to hang with a self adhesive backing and no electrician or wiring necessary! Love the remote to easily turn on and off and to switch the colors! Perfect cozy cottage feel for this corner of our lake house.
