One of my favorite things about fall is the air of romance - that feeling that something magical could happen at any moment. ✨ This look really brings that to life for me - it’s quite practical in function, yet it makes me feel like I’ve stepped straight out of a novel or a film which is my favorite way to dress.

The accessories might be my favorite part of this entire capsule. This time around, I went with a mix of timeless, heritage-inspired pieces and more playful picks that still feel luxe & polished to me.

I think this series really shows how important it is to stay true to your own aesthetic. I could’ve easily gone for understated, modern “quiet luxury” pieces - and that could’ve been great - but that’s just not what I’m loving right now. Instead, I leaned into the bold yet classic pieces that I think bring these types of looks to life.

Look 10 - The Coco Cabana
A curated style series

Every item except for the pants was found secondhand, and it honestly feels like such a delight to FINALLY have the full look together exactly how I imagined it.

I share this partly because it highlights two lessons I’ve learned about shopping in the modern era:

1️⃣ If you love something - a print, a fabric, a collection - and you have the room in your budget and wardrobe, there’s no need to “choose just one piece.” You don’t get extra points for restraint or for buying something that you’ll ultimately wear less in the name of variety. If you adore the green plaid, go ahead and get the whole green plaid suit. You’ll get more use out of a print that you love in the end, even if it feels redundant to have it in the pants AND the skirt- ya know what I mean?

2️⃣ On the other hand, if you can’t buy it now, don’t panic. The internet is a wonderful place for shopping procrastinators like us - Between Poshmark, eBay, The RealReal, and Mercari, most pieces will find their way back to you eventually. It may take a little patience (and a few saved searches), but they’ll turn up - just like this outfit did.

Fall has never been my favorite season weather-wise (especially in CO - I think it’s boring 🤷🏼‍♀️ ), but it really is such a great one for fashion - especially when it comes to textures and fabrications. What I love about this outfit is how those textures come together: the faux leather skirt, the tweed jacket, and that beautiful balance of structure and softness.

Cream isn’t the first color that comes to mind for autumn, but that’s exactly what makes it interesting to me. 🤍 I think it’s fun to play with expectations and remind ourselves that just because you buy something during a season doesn’t mean it has to stay in that season. This look could easily come back for spring and perhaps it will… 👀 . I love incorporating trending colors into my looks - but a classic is a classic for a reason.

This dress was so comfy and perfect for dinner the other night. ✨

Since I work from home full-time, I’ve become a big believer in dressing up to go out - even if it’s just to a friend’s house, and even if it’s casual. Dressing up doesn’t have to mean cocktail attire or black tie - it just means wearing something that excites you and taking the time to style it fully, accessories and all. 💕

It’s been such an interesting shift for me now that I don’t have to wear “office wear” anymore, my days are often very, VERY casual but when I go out in the evenings or on weekends, I can go all out with what I’m wearing. That all-or-nothing energy definitely shows up in other areas of my life too… I’m either all in or not attending. 🤷🏼‍♀️

This outfit was built around the cutest blazer (that I actually rented!) 🤍 I’m a huge fan of renting blazers and outerwear because they instantly change up a look and make a statement - but they can also take up so much space in your closet. So rental opens up an endless rotation of options.

Look 1 - The Coco Cabana ☕️
A curated style series

I used to think there was a fine line between something looking classic or dated but lately my perspective has shifted.

I’ve realized that what really impacts how we perceive a look has less to do with the item itself, and more to do with the personal styling touches. ✨ Something can be highly referential and still feel fresh and unique on the right person.

On the flip side, even the most “timeless” piece can feel costume-y if it doesn’t vibe with the person wearing it. Which isn’t to say that you need to “stay in your lane,” in fact I am a huge fan of surprising pairings and styling.

There isn’t a right or wrong way to style something. For me, when a pairing feels right I know I want to wear it. That feeling evolves over time, and that’s okay as well. Recently I heard someone discussing the difference between being into clothing and being into fashion and I think both are totally valid - but a little fashion knowledge goes a long way in terms of deciding where you want to be original vs. take inspiration from others.

At the end of the day, the most important thing is honoring what excites you and wearing what you truly love. ❤️
