Goodbye, 2025.

You went by in the blink of an eye. Just like life. This past year things changed, people we love are gone, and new chapters began. This year reminded me to hold tight to the ones I love, because there’s nothing like time spent with family and friends.

I do wish I had more moments with some of you — and I’m carrying that lesson straight into 2026. In this next year I’m giving it my best at making all the memories. ❤️

I’m grateful I made it through. With my autoimmune journey God has really blessed me to keep going. Truly.
I thank God that He kept me. Through every high, every low, every immune challenge, every infusion, every test, biopsy and Dr.’s visit— He was faithful. This year will be my healthiest yet….God willing and the creek don’t rise! I’m stepping forward with hope.

2025 was the year I set some big things in motion — especially with Kiya’s Closet. Seeds were planted, faith was stretched, and I’m believing 2026 is where those dreams begin to bloom and harvests are reaped.

I thank my husband for his love, patience, and steady support.
I thank my friends for the laughs, the talks, and for holding me accountable.
And I thank God for our church, our spiritual leadership, new friends and new family in Christ — new brothers and sisters walking this journey with us. That’s a gift I’ll always treasure.

To everyone I didn’t get to see this year because of distance or time — please know I miss you, and we will make it happen in 2026. 🤍

And to those we lost in 2025 — you are forever in my heart. I hold onto the promise that we’ll meet again in heaven.

So here’s to a new year.
More faith. More love. More memories.
More purpose.

God must have known I was going to be down, because I made this chicken & dumplings before I started feeling horrible. 🙏🏽 There’s nothing like a pot of comfort food ready when your body says, “Sis, sit down.”

This is one of those meals that feels like a hug — simple, cozy, and full of love. If you’ve never made homemade dumplings, don’t be scared… they’re easier than they sound!

🍲 Crockpot Chicken & Dumplings (Kiya’s Way):

You’ll need:
• 2–3 boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts
• 2 cans cream of chicken soup
• 1 box chicken broth (or about 4 cups)
• 1-2 small onion, diced (optional)
• Garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, seasoning salt OR 1 pkg of fresh poultry herb OR both if you like (to taste)
• 2 cups chopped carrots, and 2 cups of chopped celery

For the dumplings:
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 Tbsp baking powder
• 1 tsp salt
• 2 Tbsp butter, melted
• About ¾–1 cup milk

How I make it:
1️⃣ Season the chicken and fry it in the skillet for 1 minute per side then Add chicken, soup, broth, onion, carrots, celery and seasonings to the crockpot. Cook on low 6–7 hours or high 3–4 hours.
2️⃣ Shred the chicken and stir it back in.
3️⃣ Mix dumpling ingredients until a soft dough forms.
4️⃣ Drop spoonfuls of dough into the bubbling crockpot.
5️⃣ Cover and cook on high about 45–60 minutes until dumplings are fluffy and cooked through. Don’t stir too much — let them do their thing!

Serve hot and thank God for comfort you didn’t even know you’d need. 🤍
