Cozy bathroom layers

This scalloped edge is beautiful, so I was already in based on that. Just discovered that it comes in a mocha/clay colour too. Now I'm double in.

So pretty !

HOT TIP: I buy the small 2'3" x 3'9" mat size first and test the colour. Going for mocha /clay this time to test it first and then maybe buy the large size 9' x 13' for the living room :)

We have this rug in almost every version - a runner, small, medium, large. It’s a staple around here - soft and durable. We’ve owned ours for about 4 years. Still looks great !!!

Shop our signature style and create a serene, spa-like bathroom. The most cherished spaces in a home feel intentional, beautifully curated and deeply authentic. The ensuite bathroom at Casa Lane is one of our favourite rooms in our entire renovation project! We layered textures throughout with plush white towels, a pretty scalloped rug for warmth and a swivel statement mirror beside the window. We mixed metals with a polished nickel faucet and added the beautiful detail of an egg-shape brass door knob.

We fancy. I stepped on a walnut designing a banquette.

Do you have a small dining space? A banquette will make such a difference!

WHY A BANQUETTE?

1. It gives you additional seating without needing extra space for pulling out chairs.

2. The seat cushions and pillows make for super cosy, inviting seating.

3. It brings staggering beauty and simplicity to a dining area.

4. It’s multifunctional …. dine, lounge, work, relax. It’s all there. Minus a walnut.

Bonus : Add wall sconces with dimmers to make for a relaxing space.

BANQUETTE LOVE :

1. The dining room walls are painted in Simply White OC 117 by Benjamin Moore. We love colour drenching. The trim, walls and ceiling are all Simply White. For the trim, we do a slight sheen but everything else is matte.

2. We bought our banquette in Bali as a custom banquette. We tagged some other banquettes that we love, that would be great alternatives.

3. The throw pillows are from Ikea ! Love the colour and style. We double stuffed them to make them feel fluffier and more full.

4. We love love love candles. It creates a gorgeous dining room vibe. We go for unscented.

5. Tagged our wall sconce lighting source. We bought them from the US last year and we super love them. Since then, we also found that Lighthouse Co sells them in Canada. LOVE!

6. The beautiful windows are from Marvin Canada. They frame the dining space beautifully. They are soooo pretty, we didn't put curtains on them :)

7. Our Oak flooring is custom made by our local mennonites.

8. The table.. also from Bali.. but what we had on hand. Ideally, a true banquette style of table would be better, where the legs are in the centre, so that it makes it easy to get in and out from the bench seat.

9. Our favourite banquette table is made by @shopacremade . Their quality is absolutely beautiful.

Brass hardware on the Casa kitchen cabinets are chefs kiss beautiful. We went with unlacquered brass. Love.

Casa Lane banquette : creating a banquette dining area is great for small spaces! We can seat 6 people in this cozy nook. With a traditional dining space, we wouldn't have had room for a dining table and 6 chairs. This was the perfect solution. Our banquette is custom made from Bali. Here are other fab options for banquettes...

Casa Lane kitchen : Our favourite project yet. Soon to be for sale in the spring of 2025. We are going to miss this gorgeous home. It took 2 years to renovate, but it will always be many years of loving it. The wall sconces in the kitchen look stunning. A fave for sure! The banquette is custom made but we linked some extra options for you too!
