If there's one thing I know to be true, it's that a pink nursery will never go out of style. Over the years, variations on pink have changed (remember Millennial Pink??), but the sweet softness of the color will never age.

For this nursery design, we combined a few shades of pink for a layered and sophisticated look—mauve to keep things elevated and blush for that sweet touch. The soft mauve floral wallpaper anchors the room with a fresh and versatile pattern!

It's funny which nursery designs seem to resonate. This nursery was for a virtual client almost 2 years ago, but the strawberry wallpaper has been spiking like crazy on Pinterest for the past few weeks!

The best part of this particular wallpaper is that the colors are fully customizable. For this client, we lightened up the background and changed the strawberries to a slightly more pink color. You can play with the colors in real-time on the site!

It's always the best when I get to design a second space for a client. We designed her first nursery a few years ago, and she's back for nursery #2 for her new baby girl.

She wanted a French inspired theme with a floral wallpaper and wall paneling combo, which is so popular these days. The paneling helps to break up the wallpaper and creates visual interest in the space.

Girl Nurseries
This new nursery design was for a client who wanted a classic and sophisticated nursery with a few modern touches.

She already owned a set of traditional nursery furniture so she wanted to bring in those classic elements while balancing the design with some modern touches too.

We started by switching up the wall paneling to a more classic style and softening the color (it used to be a dark navy).

Then we layered in neutrals, plaids, a few preppy decor pieces and some teddy bears 🧸

There have been two main nursery design trends I’ve been seeing so much of for 2026. One of them is a more traditional "preppy" look.

I worked with this client previously on her son’s coastal bedroom and her daughter’s floral nursery. For the new baby, she wanted a more preppy aesthetic with a blue and red star wallpaper she was in love with.

This nursery is coming along! Got this progress photo from the client and I’m so excited to see it when it’s finally done.

The slate blue molding and plaid wallpaper are up, the soft neutral furniture is in, and the chandelier looks fantastic!

We’ll be finishing off this nursery design with drapery, an accent rug, ottoman, artwork, and more decor. Check back to see the finished space!

My go-to spot for a mirror is over the dresser in a nursery or kid's room. I include one in almost every single design! A wall mirror bounces light around the room and helps to open up the space, especially if your nursery or kid's room is small.

Check out my favorite wall mirrors for nursery and kids, and head to the Little Crown Interiors blog post for tips on getting the size, height, and finish just right. And of course, how to hang mirrors safely so baby stays protected.

My go-to spot for a mirror is over the dresser or changing table, and I include one in almost every nursery design. A mirror bounces light around the room and makes the space feel bigger and brighter (especially since nurseries and kid's rooms are often smaller).

Every nursery needs lighting, but what if you're short on space? Even in a larger nursery, you may not have enough space on your dresser or side table for a large lamp (and it's nice to have something smaller that you won't knock over).
