Maybe it’s because I’m a Gemini, but I’ve never been good at just picking one thing over the other…and I happen to be a huge fan of a belted and structured bodice with a swing skirt, a gingham print, AND, of course, pockets! So it’s pretty great when I can have multiple things I love in one look.

Jumpsuits all summer!

I love vintage style fashion, but I typically stick to 1920s-1950s and not so much the 1960s-1970s. I LOVE this groovy print, though!

For reference, I generally wear an XL or 2X in Hell Bunny’s clothing. I like sizing up to 2X in their jumpsuits because I prefer them to be roomy.

So, here’s the thing…I’m terrible at doing my own hair, especially in vintage styles. And when I say terrible I mean I’ve watched every possible tutorial on how to do a victory roll and have still never completed one that actually looks the way it’s supposed to. Also, my hair is so long that many retro styles are just not doable and the ones that are require at least an hour of rolling and pinning and whatnot to the point where I’m exhausted just thinking about it.

So what’s a retro-loving girl who can’t easily do her hair in vintage styles to do?

Accessorize.

I’ve found that adding key accessories can help give you that vintage look without having to spend hours on achieving it. My go-tos are usually day gloves (I have a decent sized collection of true vintage ones) and a hair scarf or hat (berets or half hats are my fave).

What are your favorite vintage style cheats for when you’re short on time?
