What’s a better birthday gift than the gift of YOU?!? I spent the past week in California and was lucky to have some really great quality time with my parents! The trip ended up falling perfectly so I was able to be with my mom both for Mother’s Day AND her birthday!! If you follow me in my stories then you’ll know that working out is a huge part of my routine, and something super important to me! What you may not know though is that I use to haaaaate working out. Like with a passion. I was in sports all growing up, played basketball all through high school, and LOVED sports. Because it was working out, but wwith a huge distraction! After high school though I struggled a lot to get myself to a gym. The change to enjoying working out didn’t just happen overnight. There are days (weekly still) that I dread working out. I’ve realized though, it’s more of a mental game than anything! And yes, I work out for the physical health aspect of it...more than that though (and what I didn’t expect) is that I would keep working out because of the mental change I saw in myself. Getting myself to do something “hard” each day was HUGE to my mental health and personal self-esteem. I realized I can do hard things!!! And the endorphins it creates didn’t hurt either haha! I know it may sound daunting, but I promise that you can do one hard thing each day too! Try it!!!! And don’t forget how you feel once you’ve done it!! // P.S these cute leggings are under $30!
