What’s in a Fancy Forest Christmas Tree? 👇

Well, I knew I had to have giant DIY moss covered mushrooms in mine. That’s why I took these DIY mushrooms my daughter and I made in the spring and covered them in moss. They turned out , but let’s just say that wasn’t my cleanest or easiest DIY I’ve ever done.

Next, obviously you’ll need some fancy squirrels. Check my LTK page for these guys. They fit right in.

The other things I really love about this tree are the combination of my lighting recipe with the large iridescent ornaments. I used one 40’ cluster light on the trunk and set that strand of lights to twinkle. Then I lit the branches with three 75 foot snake lights. The 10” iridescent ornaments let that light shine through the tree. Love it!

Finally, the ribbon is so gorgeous that I topped the tree off with the luxurious 4” Diamond and Pearl ribbon and accented it with the 1” emerald velvet ribbon.

Is it easy to flock a ten foot Christmas tree? Well, it’s not that hard really. Spray, flock, spray.

Can you really flock indoors? Yes! Just skip the sifter and protect your floors and you should be good.

How much flock do I need? It depends on how big your tree is and how much flock you use. I probably used 5 pounds in this tree this year. Last year I think I used 8 pounds or so.

What will it look like next year? It won’t be as pretty as when it is freshly done. Plan to flock every year, but if gets easier each year.

What kind of flock do you recommend? Just comment “Flock” and I’ll send you all my supplies including flock along with all my tips and tricks.

Even the prettiest Christmas garland can look a little off if your holiday ribbon isn’t spaced just right. Here’s a super simple garland decorating tip I use every year when I’m styling mantels for that designer, balanced look. 🎄✨

Just take the middle of your ribbon and attach it to the middle of your garland first—then work your way out to each end. This guarantees your ribbon is evenly distributed, full, and flowing all the way across your mantel. Such an easy Christmas decorating hack, but it makes a huge difference!
