Transforming your small dark bedroom into a bright cozy haven shouldn’t be hard but it can be overwhelming.
Here are a few tips that I’ve learned and that have proven to work for me time and time again.
1). Paint your walls a light colors. This will create the illusion of a bigger more spacious room.
2). Invest in good bedding. As much as I love to save a dollar, investing in comfortable bedding that will stand the test of time will always be nd up saving you money in the long run.
3). Pillows are a great investment as well. Wether you like standard pillows or a body pillow, these will help you get the comfort and rest you need.
3). The days of having multiple comforters are over! With a duvet you simply change the duvet cover whenever you want a different look. The key to a fluffy duvet is to use two duvet inserts instead of one.
4). Pinch & Tuck method is used when the pillow of your choice is too small for the pillow cover. The pinch & Ivo method helps you achieve that clean fitted look.
5). Decorative pillows are a great way to add color, personality and texture to your bed. Try to choose pillow that have removable covers for interchangeability.
6). Throw blankets are not only great for adding color and a cozier look to your bed, but also for wrapping yourself in when doing homework, watching tv or reading a book.
7). Plants are a great way to add that little pop of color or life to your neutral space.
8). Wall art can get expensive. A great way to save a some cash is to purchase printable art on Etsy. They provide hundreds of not thousands of options, styles and colors.
7). Use what you have! Take inventory of what you already have in the space and keep that in mind when shopping.
For example: I had a mini pink make up fridge in the room so I made sure to incorporate printable art that in life’s that pink tone. This helped to tie the room together.
