I love to host and create beautiful events.

✨✨✨ When arranging a charcuterie board, look at it like you’re styling your home. Think: contrasting colors, textures, shapes and tastes. Well, we don’t taste our home decor, but you know what I mean.

▪️I start by placing my cheeses on a wood board. If you don’t have a board yet, you can use a wood cutting board or other large, flat plate. It’s best to keep it neutral. Depending how many people I’m serving, I try to have 3-4. Always use at least 1 soft, creamy cheese like a Brie or triple creme. Alternatively, you also want to have a firm cheese like a Manchego or Gouda.
▪️Layer in the meats around the cheese. You can loosely fold the prosciutto, make a salami rose, or simply lay it next to the cheese.
▪️Place the fruits and veggies. This is the part where you really want to look at the color, texture and shape. Mixing grapes and berries is always aesthetically pleasing.
▪️Layer in your honeycomb, jams, dried fruits and place your crackers. Fill in gaps with a variety of nuts.
▪️Bonus points if you have a sprig of fresh rosemary or basil. Or even some edible flowers. Do not use traditional flowers as they have preservatives and are not food safe.

✨✨✨ All you need is a napkin and a fork to create this rose napkin fold. Twist and display in a bowl. Just don’t stab the napkin too hard. 🤣

✨✨✨ I’m no etiquette expert, but if you take the time to set a table for your guests, let’s at least set it properly. Save this post to reference on your next dinner party.

▪️ Start with the dinner plate. Layer the salad plate and then the soup bowl.
▪️ Directly left of the plates, place the larger dinner fork and smaller salad fork to its left.
▪️ Place the dinner knife on the right side of the plate, blade facing in. Lay the soup spoon to the right of the knife.
▪️ The dessert spoon or cake fork should go horizontally above the plate.
▪️ Set the water glass to the right of the plate, above the knife and spoon. Place the wine glass to the right diagonal (if you have room) from the water glass.
▪️ Your napkin can be placed on the center of the bowl or plate. Alternatively, you may lay it to the left of the forks.

✨✨✨ Extras I love to add: a decorative charger or place mat, themed napkin fold, fabric runner, fresh flowers, candles and a place card.

✨✨✨ Creating a beautiful floral arrangement is a lot easier than some would think. I love to use fresh flowers, but if you want it to last longer, you can use some good quality faux flowers.

▪️My insider tip is to start with HYDRANGEAS. They are large and so pretty on their own. Cut the stems short enough so they lay on top of your vase.
▪️ I normally don’t opt for baby’s breath but I thought for Valentine’s Day, let’s go all out on the girliness. 🎀
▪️Adding the eucalyptus brings in a bit of color and a nice texture to balance out the softness of the other flowers.
