This project sticks out in my mind as one of my favorites for so many reasons. The clients, the team working on it, the color palette, the photos, all of it. Our job is to design YOUR dream home, but when the project also happens to turn out to look like OUR dream home too, it’s a big bonus. We are so fortunate to be totally aligned with our clients in terms of style and it makes the end result so much better. It wasn’t always this way [insert flashbacks of the client who made me use colorful butterfly wallpaper on her desk in Las Vegas]. It’s the number one reason why our inquiry form says “are you familiar with Penny & Pearl Design projects and is our style your ideal?” We hate to be picky, but if your answer is no then it’s also a no for us. Not because we don’t respect and appreciate all styles, but because when our clients trust our vision and process the results speak for themselves. Give us a client bathroom and we can make decisions on the spot, but give us our own bathroom and we have commitment issues. Do we know too much? Maybe. We’re renovating our second floor bathroom very very soon and —as much as we love going outside of our comfort zone— we’re staying very much inside our comfort zone for this one. Think white oak, marble, limestone, neutrals, mixed metals. You already know the drill. It’s the client bathrooms I still think about years later that tell me they’re what I love most and this one will always stick with us as a Penny & Pearl classic. Went on a little shopping trip to @arhaus today and linked all of my favorite finds for you in my LTK shop. One of the top questions I get asked is — what is your favorite sectional? The Kipton is always one of my top three recommendations because it comes in so many Krypton performance fabrics so it’s family and pet-friendly. You know I love a white sofa and with performance materials you can live life without worrying about spills and stains every minute. Most of my clients are families and I have kids of my own so durability is very important around here.
