I used the 18” Massey appliance pull in unlacquered brass on our paneled refrigerator to seamlessly blend into the rest of the kitchen cabinetry. I love the look and they feel strong enough to open the door easily despit the strong suction of the Subzero. Highly recommend!

As an interior designer and fourth-time mom I’m here to tell you that your bedside is the first space you should design for baby. It’s very fun to have the perfectly designed nursery all ready to go when they’re first born, but trust me… they won’t be sleeping in there for the first few months.

Having an easily accessible and safe bassinet next to my bed was a game changer for my last three babies so it was my first priority for our fourth who will be joining us soon. The Bassinest from @halosleep is sleek, breathable and adjustable [and it fits in nicely with my neutral aesthetic which is extremely important to me in any baby product I bring into my home]. It swivels right over the bed, keeping baby within reach for those nighttime feeds and diaper changes plus it has a built-in nightlight, soothing sounds and light vibrations.

For the newborn months, I like to use the DreamWeave breathable mattress pad, the fleece Velcro swaddles [I’ve tried so many types and these are by far the best], and the newborn insert which keeps them nice and cozy.

I never thought I’d say this, but I’m obsessed with these sponges. I usually despise sponges and throw them out any time I see them sitting there looking all innocent while they quietly soak up and spread all the bacteria. EW. But these sponges are so cute and dry out so nicely on their little smiley holder. Yes I pay extra for the white Scrub Mommy ones because I cannot have yellow sponges in my nice white sink, but that’s a me problem.

Let’s talk cabinet hardware. The jewelry of the kitchen— if you will.
Hardware is one of the most important pieces of the design because it adds that finishing touch and gets used many times a day. We need it to be beautiful, durable and planned out as thoughtfully as the bigger pieces of the kitchen design.

Our rule of thumb is to mix knobs, pulls and handles so the hardware feels curated and not straight out-of-Home Depot. We love unlacquered brass for its patina over time and it’s sturdiness.
