STEP BY STEP- How we Installed our Exterior Stonework: * applied marine grade plywood + waterproof barrier paper * cut metal lath and nailed it on top of barrier paper to secure * mixed Sakrete "Stone Veneer Mortar" to apply a scratch coat of concrete for the stones to adhere better (let dry 24 hrs) * we used @eldoradostone RoughCut (limestone veneer) in the color "Casa Blanca" * took flat stones & corner stones out of the boxes to mix colors (since there were a variety of tones) * mixed Sakrete "Stone Veneer Mortar" for adhering the stones to the structures * starting with the corner pieces, sprayed a light mist of water onto the surface and back of stone before applying pressure & held in place for a few seconds * continued with flat stones working out from corners starting from the top working downward * gap sizes in between stones were varied and we had to chisel off edges on some of them for a better fit * let stones dry 24 hours before grouting * used Prism Cement Grout in the color "Snow White" in a DEP piping bag (both from Home Depot) to grout between stones * let it dry about 10 minutes before swiping the grout with our fingers to smooth it * after it firmed up we went back again and smoothed any excess off with our fingers #LTKHome

Step by step- how we constructed this curved microcement plaster hood. 🤍 -built a box skeleton frame out of 3/4” plywood (hood dimensions are 27.5” H x 45” W x 21” D) -cut 3 curved plywood pieces for each side and attached to the frame -took 1/4” prefinished birch plywood and kerf cut on the insides of the 2 areas that needed to follow the curve -wrapped and stapled the (kerf cut) 1/4” birch plywood over the top to make one smooth surface -primed, and then applied Meoded CONCRETTA FS MICROCEMENT PLASTER in the color “Calm White” -hood insert: SKS Appliances 36”(SKSHI3601S) #LTKstorytime #LTKHome
