BEST LAYERING TURTLENECK! And it’s affordable!! For anyone else anxiously awaiting tomorrow’s Hill House Holiday Collection Launch, I wanted to share my favorite layering turtleneck - perfect if you’re wanting to save some $$ and get *the look* with your splurge nap dress… like me!

Plus, nothing against their turtleneck one pieces, but being pregnant, I wanted something fitted yet stretchy and the fact that this is a non-maternity top that (so far) is working super well for this mama-to-be, it’s so perfect! Pictured, I am wearing a black turtleneck last year (def not pregnant at the time) and it fit great! Snug where you want it, soft stretchy fabric and a price you can’t beat!

I recently ordered it in a few colors to wear under the tartan nap dresses I plan to buy tomorrow. I wore a white one today under a tweed shift dress and it was super cute and comfy - just too tired tonight to take a pic.

A sweet snack board for our Valentine’s date-night-in last night!! This was really fun to put together, despite visiting 4 different stores in the rain yesterday afternoon before finding all the goodies I wanted to include!! 😅

We enjoyed pizza from Domino’s (I love their gluten free crust ❤️🍕) and McD’s Cokes before snuggling up on the couch to watch the movie I Still Believe while grazing on this scrumptious snack board (platter)! See today’s blog post for details!

What’s on your agenda for today? When I worked for the retail federation, we surveyed independent retailers each year about their predictions for the holiday shopping season and they almost always said “Super Saturday” aka the last Saturday before Christmas (today) was their anticipated busiest day.

We are “wrapping up” 🎁 our Christmas shopping this afternoon at a few stores and spending the evening making Christmas candy and wrapping presents! And I finally finished writing our Christmas letter 🤪 which is a very good thing considering we mailed the cards yesterday with the link printed on them and people will likely be looking for it soon! Lol!! Oh the joys (and little stresses) of the holidays!

Ahh I finally understand the hype!! I recently purchased my first pair of Madewell jeans during the Black Friday weekend. I’ve notoriously been the shopper that buys the budget-friendly denim, stuck on a cycle of annually purchasing a new pair of “affordable” jeans because last year’s look so warn, or they’ve lost their spunk or there are holes rubbed in the inner thigh area. It’s true. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Shopping for jeans isn’t something I really enjoy and therefore once I found something that worked and wasn’t pricey, I held on for dear life. I like to invest in good shoes, so why don’t I invest in good jeans? I wear them so much, doesn’t it seem like a wise purchase? These questions about swirl around in my head re: all clothing, every few months, usually after a disappointing trip to my closet when something from last year no longer looks fresh and crisp. I have very few pieces of clothing that I’ve “invested” in but they’re the items I actually do find myself coming back to year after year, and loving more than any fast fashion. So I recently decided to make a short list of investment pieces, and jeans quickly moved to the top of the wardrobe investment list.
