My bright white dress was the perfect choice. White symbolizes purity, new beginnings, and spiritual cleansing, which are key themes in the sacrament or ritual of baptism across many religious traditions.

I paired the dress with simple nude sandals and my spring green purse.

Summer Style: Swimwear — the “versatile coverup”

An aspect I focus on with my clients is creating a versatile and wood wardrobe. That maximizes the output of the collection.

When a swim outfit, I try to encourage clients to have at least one of the coverups be something that can be worn on its own away from the beach and pool.

Summer Style: Swimwear — “The Outfit”

A key piece I talked to my clients about with swimwear is thinking about the “outfit.” Instead of just looking for swimsuits that you may or may not like, focus on building an entire outfit that you love, which includes a swimsuit.

As with all my collections, choosing items that you can mix and match create a larger wardrobe. But you can also easily choose specific things that you like for one outfit.

My challenge to you is to create at least two swimwear outfits for the year. This way, you have a secondary option for when your first outfit may still be drying from the day before.

This can be built, using items already in your closet, a combination of new items and previously owned, or all new.
