This is one of my favorite views of the kitchen and the hardest to get a photo of😂. This white oak island was number one on my must have list when we built. We looked at wrapping the whole island but it was out of budget so we have plans to wrap the other side on our own for much less than we were quoted.

My parents went home today. Honestly, we would not be as settled as we are had they not been here. They were superheroes, tackling unpacking and watching our girls all week while my husband and I worked. It takes a village!❤️❤️❤️

Finally landed on a counter arrangement I can get on board with! I had a vase from my Grandma I had plans to put on the stack of cookbooks but it slipped out of the packing paper when I was taking it out and shattered😢. To be honest, it’ll be awhile before I’m not heartbroken over this. My grandma was one of my very favorite people.

Happy Wednesday! Halfway through our week! My parents have been staying with us for the last week and half but they left for Hawaii today. Safe to say our kitchen will not be this clean now that it’s back to our two man parenting show!😂 We’re so grateful to have both parents willing to travel and help us out.

Our new rug made it (despite my address mixup🤦‍♀️🙃) and it’s perfect. The size fits the space so much better than our last one and the pattern compliments rather than fights our other rugs in this open living and kitchen space.

AND I can tell you it cleans like a dream because someone (cough cough my husband) spilled rib sauce all over it already and you can’t even tell!

Finally found a footed tray that works for our soap and counter spray! The one from Target I originally ordered didn’t hold all three containers. I snagged this one on a whim and it works perfectly! Talk about things that I didn’t know I’d care about 10 years ago!😂

This island is my favorite part of our kitchen. It’s massive. 10 feet. I thought the island at our last house was big but it doesn’t even compare. It’s going to be wonderful for hosting and gatherings!
