EASY VALENTINES CAKE POPS // I love a good cake pop and since learning how to make a semi homemade version, it’s one of my favorite treats to make. These Valentine’s Day ones are super cute - and also tasty. You’ll need - 1 box Little Debbie Valentine Cakes - Red candy melts - Straws or lollipop/candy sticks - Sprinkles - Optional - cellophane bags & ribbon Let’s make it - Unwrap individual cakes and place in large bowl - Using a mixer or spoon, break up cakes and combine - Using a mini scoop or spoon, scoop about 1 tbsp of the cake into hand - Roll between palms to create a round shape - Place on wax paper lined sheet pan - Insert straw or stick - Pinch cake around straw or stick if there are gaps - Place in freezer for 10 minutes - Add meltable candy to bowl and heat until melted (according to package) - Dip cake pops into the melted candy - Add sprinkles immediately - If desired, place in cellophane bags after the pops have dried and tie with ribbon These cake pops are yummy and beautiful. VALENTINE POP TARTS // Who doesn’t love a pop tart? I remember the first time my kiddos tried one and looked at me like I had been holding out on them. These heart shaped ones are super simple to make and taste so good! You’ll need - Refrigerated pie crust - Strawberry jam or preserves - Frosting - Sprinkles - Heart shaped cookie cutters - Parchment paper - Baking sheet Let’s make them - Preheat oven to 375 degrees - Gently unfold pie crust, leaving it on the paper it comes wrapped in - Cut out hearts using cookie cutters, making sure you have an even amount - Top one heart with 1 tbsp of jam/preserves - Top with plain heart - Seal by pressing fork tubes along seams - Line baking sheet with parchment paper - Add each heart to baking sheet - Bake for 10 minutes - Microwave frosting for 30 seconds - Stir and drizzle over hearts - Add sprinkles if desired These are so good! MONSTER RICE KRISPIES TREATS // Super easy and fun Halloween treat. Great for kiddos to help. You’ll need: - Rice Krispies treats (If you’re looking for super easy, buy the premade ones.) - Candy/chocolate melts - any color - Popsicle sticks - Halloween sprinkles - Candy eyes - Wax paper Let’s make them: - Insert a popsicle stick in each Rice Krispies treat - in a bowl, melt colored candy/chocolate according to directions on package - in other bowls, add sprinkles and eyes (separately) - set aside a sheet pan covered with wax paper - Dip each treat in the melted candy/chocolate - add desired sprinkles, holding over bowl to help with cleanup - place on wax covered sheet pan to dry There are so many ways to make these treats your own. And because they’re monsters, you really can’t make any mistakes. Fun times! (Make sure your bowl is deeper and wider than your fire pit.) The fire is big enough for s’mores and cozy nights but small enough that I feel I can control it.
