When my husband and I built our home four years ago, we never put much effort into finishing our garage. We threw up a little drywall, but it wasn’t even painted. This spring, we finally decided it was time for a garage spring cleaning and a garage floor epoxy upgrade!

At first, I was nervous that the process would be overwhelming, but it turned out to be incredibly simple. The hardest part? Being patient and waiting for everything to dry!

Step-by-Step Garage Epoxy Process:

✔ Garage Cleanout & Surface Prep – We started by decluttering the garage, sweeping the floor, and prepping it for epoxy. A clean, dry surface is essential for a long-lasting finish.

✔ Applying the Epoxy Paint – After letting the floors dry overnight, we rolled on the garage floor epoxy coating. I even got to wear these cool spiked shoes that allowed me to walk on the wet epoxy without leaving marks!

✔ Decorating with Epoxy Flakes – My favorite part! While my husband handled the painting, I sprinkled epoxy flakes to create a customized, high-end look. You can control how dense or sparse the flakes are, making it a fun and creative step.

✔ Drying & Sealing the Floor – After waiting 24 hours for the epoxy to cure, we scraped off the excess flakes, cleaned up the floor, and applied a clear epoxy sealer using a simple paint roller.

The final result? A beautiful, durable, and easy-to-clean garage floor that instantly upgraded our space! If you’re looking for a budget-friendly garage makeover, I highly recommend epoxy flooring. It not only gives your garage a polished, high-end look, but it also makes maintenance a breeze.
