This spray gel really surprised me for this wavy curly hair washday routine.

This is the first spray gel I’ve ever tried and, after using it a couple times before, I’ve learned that it’s best applied to my hair damp. It’s lightweight and easy to spread. I also got a slight cast at the end, however, I think using a little more or a little less would change how hard that cast was.

For the cream, I’m in love with the scent and how much slip it has. It was very easy to distribute throughout my hair and a little we a long way for my finer strands.

*please note the importance of using an alcohol-free hairspray on wet or damp hair. Using something WITH alcohol can dry out and damage the hair.

Tips for using the Bounce Curl brush:

➰ For looser textures similar to mine, make sure your hair is wet, not soaking. Soaking hair will just allow all the clumps to go back together.

➰ Brush AFTER applying your stylers. This will allow for more even product distribution.

➰ Lift hair up and away from the scalp for added volume.

➰ This is NOT a detangling brush. Use only as a styling brush to get the most gorgeous curl clumps💛

How to Wash & Style Curly/Wavy Hair Upside Down (Without Wonky Curls!)

Tip #1: Rotate your head from side to side while washing and styling. This helps lift your roots and prevents flat or “wonky” sections in the back.

Tip #2: Shake your hair before scrunching. This encourages your curls/waves to form in their natural direction, reducing frizz and uneven curl clumps.

Perfect for anyone with wavy hair, curly hair, or learning the upside-down wash routine.

Tip: for looser textures, make sure your hair is wet but NOT soaking when styling with this brush. If it's too wet, the clumps will stick together and not remain separated. This separation is what creates the volume

For bigger clumps, check out the Bounce Curl DEFINE EdgeLift brush tagged below under “similar” products. The side grooves are further apart on the Define brush.

I’ve also tagged the bounce curl cream as an alternative to the leave-in I show here. You’ll see that I most often use the cream over the leave-in, but never both as it would be too heavy for my hair type.

The combo of mousse + hairspray is light enough to create volume, but strong enough to add definition. And the best part? It takes me less than 20 mins to dry with a diffuser.

I can’t be bothered with much these days, especially not my hair. This routine is one of my quickest go-to summer routines.

Styling for LOOSE beach waves 🌊

This video is all about elongated and creating an effortless look. Styling in damp hair with a heavier cream helps weigh my tighter waves and curls down. I then use a foam to create a soft, airy finish but with some hold.

Does the viral bounce curl brush actually work on looser curl patterns?

For me - yes! My mostly 2c hair loves this brush. I’ve found the trick is to apply product to wet hair (NOT soaking) and then brush to distribute the product, smooth wet frizz and form curl clumps. This gives me the BEST definition with minimal frizz.
