Having grown up in Florida, the four seasons were really more like one long summer and a tiny few months of “bitter cold”. The same bitter cold in which we’d witness snowbirds from Canada wearing shorts and tanks hopping into the water because it “felt great”.

Even though I’ve got thin blood I love cooler weather. The last few mornings it’s been cool and I’ve enjoyed waiting for the sun to rise offering warmth.

I love that the seasons are a reminder of changes in our life. That we can experience the difficulty of cold in the winter but the joy of warmth when spring comes.

If you find yourself in a season of cold, just remember that the sun will rise again. A new season is on the horizon and it’ll bring change. While it can’t be summer forever, I sure am excited for fall.

What is it? Encouraging you all to reach out to someone you love to say hi. Saying hello to strangers. Just putting yourself out there to create community. I used to post a story every week about that, and for no real reason I stopped.

Well, take this post as a nudge to say hello to a friend. It doesn’t have to be much. In fact, I’m doing this guide for a friend I made through Instagram. Allie has been a constant for nearly a year- always popping in to say hi. We’ve never met but between her messages and listening to her podcast it’s like catching up with a sweet friend.
