24. Mariana by Susanna Kearsley :: 3/5⭐️. Julia Beckett knew from a very young age that she wanted THAT house. Julia puts in an offer and gets Greywethers all for herself. What she doesn’t realize is that she is drawn to this house for a reason - she is transported back in time to the 1600s as Mariana Farr, a young woman struggling with a forbidden love. This tale of reincarnation spans multiple centuries and multiple people. I loved the idea of this story, but (and I’m chalking it up to last week being so crazy at work and me basically falling asleep w my book in my hand every single night after 5 minutes) I felt the it could not hold my attention, and that it was hard to differentiate between which century we were in. I did love the ending. But the book was slow for me. I may reread it in the future to give it a second chance, since the reviews are so good, but for now I give it a solid 3 stars.
