61. Betting on You by Lynn Painter :: 4.25/5⭐️so I accidentally read a “book for young readers” and it was actually amazing! 17 year old Bailey met Charlie a year ago when she was flying, by herself after her parents divorce, to her new home. They reconnected when they both got a job at the same place. But when Charlie insists that members of the opposite sex can not be friends, Bailey sets out to prove him wrong. They become best friends and start developing feelings for each other, obviously, but can they put their fears aside and let their love work? This sweet romance focuses heavily on divorce, families splitting up, and new partners coming into the picture. i think it could be a great read if you or someone you know is going through that. It felt a little like a coming of age story and I really enjoyed it! It did feel a bit young in the beginning, but the last half read like a regular barely-there-spice romance book. I definitely recommend, especially if your teen is looking to get into romance books! If I was younger I would have absolutely rated this higher.
