Our entryway is a mix of pieces we’ve built, pieces my dad built, a gallery of our original rescue kitties, and our favorite benches and vases! One of the reasons I love these leather benches is that they have an X-shaped metal base that ties in with many other features in our home so as soon as I saw them, I knew they’d fit right in! (Cat cameo by Nyx patiently waiting for us to complete our art piece we’re currently making! My home office has been spookified for Halloween !

Our gallery wall hallway with Chai doing his daily Halloween “bat check” and Nyx cheering him on! He’s so good and doesn’t actually remove the bats or anything, he just taps them lightly with his paw to see if they’ve come to life. Recently I’ve been moving these stools around our hallway a bit (they’re usually in our Entryway) because I’ve been debating adding a more permanent bench to the hallway and using furniture pieces I already have on hand to help visualize is a great way to do that! Btw, sources & sizing for these gallery frames are on our website. — Shop your screenshot of this pic with the Shop.LTK app

Our bedroom window seat is ready for Halloween! Building this was one of my favorite projects we did this year - it added so much storage and function to this space and totally feels like it completed the room! We documented the whole process and shared it on our website’s “Tutorials” section (including making no-sew window seat cushion).

In our mudroom, we combined different types of storage to make this zone as functional as possible. The black hooks (with the cutest gold detailing if you zoom in!) are of course usually filled with coats and sweaters so we used a waterproof flooring material behind them to give a rustic barn-wood look that would be smooth, wipeable, and easy to clean. We added lots of woven baskets for texture and practicality, and also put in closed storage that can be used in 3 ways (as individual lockers, as hanging coat storage, and as regular shelving) depending on how we configure them. Our dining room Halloween decor is complete! I used my favorite bats (attached with scotch tape), black birds and skeletons, and paired them with decor pieces that I felt could fit a spookier theme. I had to literally sit on our dining table to get this straight-on pic but it’s the angle that shows everything best. And how cute is our rescue kitty Nyx checking it all out?? — Shop your screenshot of this pic with the Shop.LTK app

In our pantry room, we created an “appliance counter” along the main wall where we put in a row of outlets (each on its own circuit) so our medium-size appliances could live out on the counter and be easy to access. We keep their various attachments, as well as smaller hand-held appliances, in the drawers below. For storage above, we combined open shelving with air-tight containers and closed storage above for extras. Below, we put in open wire roll-out baskets for produce and a row of drawers below for long-term storage (like bulk canned/jarred goods, kitchen bags, etc). On the other side of the room, we also have a pantry fridge that we keep a little colder than our normal fridge/freezer and use for bulk cold storage (like cheeses, milk, apples, citrus, frozen veggies and various refrigerated/frozen items that store well over a longer period). We stock up every few months on these items which helps reduce the size of our regular fresh grocery orders. Sources (and a pic of the other side of the room) are on our website’s “Pantry Sources” page. (Cat cameo by Nyx) — Shop your screenshot of this pic with the Shop.LTK app.

Our living room coffee table vase is on sale right now at the lowest price I’ve ever seen it! This huge glass vase has been one of my most favorite and consistent pieces of decor that I keep displayed here all year round. I chose it because I wanted a large statement piece that felt light and airy while letting the light through it and it has worked out so well! Sources are on our website’s “Living Room” page. In our basement theater room, we built a kitchenette snack bar off to the side with a sink, dishwasher, and mini fridge. In contrast to our main upstairs white-toned kitchen, we decided to go dark down here and contrast it with natural wood and brick to give it a cozy, movie room vibe. The “sofa pit” that you can see part of here extends the whole length of the room and the extra deep seating means that everyone gets to put their feet up and snuggle down in a comfy spot. Details and tutorials are on our website’s “Theater Room” page. (Cat cameo by Matcha) — Shop your screenshot of this pic with the Shop.LTK app

Our laundry room got some fun Halloween decor! I hung these witch hats from our ceiling with fishing line and scotch tape. I actually originally thought I'd need to use command hooks but they're so lightweight that a couple pieces of tape does the trick… and they're so fun!! Our open concept kitchen is one of my favorite things about our home! Since we love to cook, we wanted our kitchen to be central to our main living space and have been so happy with how it worked out. We also opted to keep our eating spaces informal island barstools and bench seats around our dining table. We actually originally considered building our dining benches into the room (almost like a big booth) but ultimately felt that a free-standing table would be easier to maneuver around so we went with what felt like the more practical choice - although I still really love both ideas!! Our dining views are getting fall colors outside and I’m loving the warm glow it brings to our home! Our sideboard is all decorated for Halloween too where the bats and blackbirds have taken over our artwork.

Our Halloween decor continues into our basement hallway with little Nyx happily adding herself to the decorations! Lately, late at night after everyone goes to bed, I’ve been putting up bats and birds around our house… they’re so easy and I think it adds such a fun touch to any space! I always use rolled up scotch tape to attach the bats though instead of the stuff they come with because I find the tape easily comes off every surface I’ve tried it on. — Shop your screenshot of this pic with the Shop.LTK app.

Our entry doors are solid black but often seem blue in pics because they have lots of natural light reflecting off them. They’re a true black color though - same as our windows, mirror and gallery frames. If you’re new to our page, please note that we always share sources for everything in our pics on our website and each room in our home has it’s own product sources page where you can find everything from the room listed out in detail! Our Halloween decor in our dining room has started on the sideboard. I swapped out our fall display for some fun spooky branches, bats, and birds!

Our powder bathroom sink most often has a napping kitty in it and right now, Matcha’s trying to convince Nyx to give her a turn… This vanity is one of our only non-custom cabinetry pieces. I picked it because the countertop was already a great match for our home and I loved the gray-toned wood look it came with so an easy way that we customized it to fit our style was to swap out the hardware for my favorite matte black drawer pulls and it fit right in! — Shop your screenshot of this pic with the Shop.LTK app

On our bedroom’s window seat, Nyx is eyeing up my Halloween bats and birds! We built this bench and cabinetry to provide storage and seating for our bedroom. This is super functional for storing extra pillows and linens, plus it adds in functional seating space too without needing to add any furniture pieces. We’ve shared the whole process of how we built it on our website’s “Tutorials” menu if you’re interested to see how it came together. — Shop your screenshot of this pic with the Shop.LTK app

My view looking down our kitchen island with one of our rescue kitties sitting at the barstools waiting to snoopervise snacktime! I thought I'd answer a few common questions about this space: 1) Our shiplap ceiling does have seams between boards but they're hidden - we have a whole shiplap tutorial on our website with details. 2) Our quartz counter also has a seam right in the middle but it's very hard to see because we picked simple white slabs. 3) Our black sinks and hardware are very easy to clean - they literally wipe right down with water - and we love them! 4) Our lighting does not get dusty very often, but they're quite easy to clean with a fuzzy duster from the ground. Our living room’s new gallery wall brings me so much joy!! We chose simple, large-scale black frames for this space to balance the wall of windows on the opposite side of the room. Right now, the frames are still empty as I plan to make the art for them myself so I need to find time for that project but even just having the frames up has added so much to this space. I chose the height for them based off the other windows as well as allowing adequate height below them for either a bench or low console table in the future if we want. Sources for everything are on our website’s “Living Room” page. (Cat cameos by Matcha & Nyx) — Shop your screenshot of this pic with the Shop.LTK app.

Our Halloween decor continues into our Game Room where I added some witch hats, a couple pumpkins, and of course my favorite little bats! I love finding little ways of adding a seasonal touch to each room. I don’t do Halloween decor in all our rooms — I usually keep some rooms more fall-themed and others with some spooky touches but it’s so fun and easy to add these little accents in! Our basement foyer is ready for Halloween! I honestly never used to decorate much for this holiday but in recent years I’ve been loving adding little bats and birds around our home. Our kitchen and dining room are open to each other and we love having these spaces flow together! We opted not to do a formal dining room and instead keep our eating spaces more casual with island barstools and dining benches around our table. We often eat lunches at the island and dinners in the dining room. Sources for everything, including paint colors, are shared on our website’s Kitchen Sources page. — Shop your screenshot of this pic with the Shop.LTK app

Details from our entryway console area with my favorite wood vases and little Nyx being the cutest accent kitty! I love incorporating warm cream florals and wood tones in fall - both of them just feel so simple and cozy to me. We built the console table to tie in with our dining table and my dad made the mirror to accentuate the height of this room - plus it gives a cool reflection of our staircase. We have tutorials for the console table and shiplap, as well as sources on our website’s Entryway” page. — Shop your screenshot of this pic with the Shop.LTK app

New gallery wall in our living room!! And this is a new view I haven’t shown much before. Ever since we designed our home, I’ve been thinking about what to do on the large feature wall on the left side of this space. I left it blank a very long because I wanted to be really sure about my decision. My goal was to something simple and minimal that complimented the wall of black-framed windows we have on the opposite side of the room and I’m SO happy with how these huge square frames worked out!! They don’t have any pictures displayed in them yet - I plan to fill them with art that I’ll make myself (instead of photos) so that’s a whole other project I still need to get to… but the frames are up!!! And I love them! I’ve added sources for them to our website’s “Living Room” page if you’re interested. (Cat cameos by Matcha & Nyx) — Shop your screenshot of this pic with the Shop.LTK app.

Our living room’s armchair corner feels very fall-ready and little Nyx is at the window watching the leaves blowing in the wind. Our slat wall was such a fun way to add character to this stair landing but you have to watch your step because our rescue kitties love to get underfoot! We’ve shared the tutorial for how to do a slat accent wall on our website if you’re interested. We also loved these square gallery wall frames so much that we decided to use the larger version of them again in another part of our home so I’ll share pics of that soon. I just love how simple and minimal they are! (Cat cameos by Matcha, Chai & Nyx) — Shop your screenshot of this pic with the Shop.LTK app.

My home office is one of my favorite spots to add Halloween accents to! At this time of year I’m often torn between decorating for Halloween and decorating for fall so I usually keep certain parts of our home fall-themed and other parts Halloween-themed… and Nyx is just the perfect accent kitty! I think she loves it because she’s always the first of our cats to come check out the new stuff. — Shop your screenshot of this pic with the Shop.LTK app
