Still one of my very favorite kitchen remodels! Painted black cabinets, new quartz countertops, and open kitchen shelving makes such an impact. This space includes a lot of small updates to that can be done anywhere, including pendant, light woven, wood, shades, and corner shelves.

DECOR TIP: Shelves love contrast. I try to include a mix of black/white, smooth/texture, straight/round, large/small. Creates a balanced vibe!

DECOR TIPS: Because shelves are so linear (lots of lines), they love organic shapes and round items. Examples here:
-vases
- bowls
- plants/botanicals
- round trays
- floral art prints

DECOR TIP: Switch out a recessed light with a pendant for a more custom look (use the easy adaption kit for a quick project without rewiring)

Of all the details in this small kitchen remodel, the black kitchen sink might be one of my favorites!

It’s “Cinder” actually - a super dark, matte gray and it almost makes me happy to do to the dishes. Hands down one of the best upgrades for the money!

Any bets on how long this clean kitchen will last with a teenage boy in the house? 🥤🌮🍪

Anyhow, I rarely share this side of the kitchen - it’s across from my shelves which honestly steal the show! When I updated this kitchen I was on a *very* tight budget so I thought I’d share some strategic choices I made to get some bang for a very small buck 💰 :
➕Since a fancy gas stove was not an option, I opted for a flat electric glass top that doesn’t have the tall back panel so it stays minimal
➕I went half custom on the hood, pairing an in stock fan with a simple box cover custom-made by a local metal worker
➕Because there was no room for a hidden appliances, I chose a small & mighty taupe microwave to blend and take up less space
➕ I took the backsplash up the entire wall for some much needed impact for just a bit more money 💥

Growing up, I learned how to stretch a dollar and still put those lessons to good use! 😉💵
