Are you team real plants or fake plants? 🪴

I love how plants instantly add liveliness and movement to a space. In addition, they’re great for indoor living because it helps clean the air from pollutants. Tons of benefits! You can’t beat nature. But you can kill it hahahaha … I once told a coworker that I couldn’t even keep a succulent alive. She laughed because she thought I was exaggerating. I wasn’t. 😂😂

“But … those aren’t even hard to keep alive!” And I was like, “I KNOW! That’s why I can’t be a plant lady even though I want to be!” She shook her head at me. (But for real, I have killed succulents — yes, plural, with an “s.”)

A family member also gifted us a bonsai tree for our marriage so it could grow with us over the years (such a sweet idea!). We named her “Joanie” after the Mad Men character. ☺️ But then she died because we couldn’t keep her alive …

So, I really tried, but fake plants it is for me. 😅 When @foreverleafshop reached out about sending a plant over, my first thought was “if it’s fake!” Haha. I received the monstera plant through amazon, perfectly packaged, and I honestly think it looks like the real deal! You can bend the leaves to your liking as well. I am truly so happy with it and brings this little area to life. 🌱

Does anyone else have a tiny kitchen?

Because same 🙋‍♀️

We have very little cabinet space. I’m pretty sure our house we are renting has barely been touched since it was built! For instance, we have two outlets in the entire kitchen …

There’s this random wall that I had our table pushed against since we moved in last year. (If you watch the “about me” you’ll understand why it stayed that way for a while!) But during maternity leave, we’ve been moving furniture around to best suit us. Finally, I had the idea to move this little IKEA piece against the wall and use it as an open shelving concept. I needed a starting point, which is when @motivatedwallart messaged me.

I utilized her modern Positano print (which is super affordable and on Amazon!) as a jumpstart point, which I was able to utilize color and fun from here!!! It’s very “me” and I even got to include a photo of Ada 😏

French inspired nursery is up on the blog! ✨ link in bio!

It’s a blog post on my baby girl’s nursery, which is mostly inspired by France, as well as some other European influences (such as Amsterdam). This was a fun and challenging project, to be honest, because I’ve never had to do a nursery or even had a baby before! Since this is my first one, planning the logistics of where everything will go was kind of difficult. For instance, I knew I wanted diapers and creams in the same area, but is it better in the drawer or out on the dresser? If I want it out on the dresser, how do I make sure it still looks nice? Lots of challenges here! (And why am I the most difficult client?!)

Interior design is about beauty and function. Sure, it’s easy to make a pretty room, but how can I make sure it’s logical too? Anyways, please save or share with someone who might find it helpful!

The nursery room is not large, but I really wanted it to be something that made sense for us as a family. I could have done a generic "French" theme, but I did not want it super "kid-ish" if that makes sense. I wanted it to be whimsical and fun, but easy for her to grow into …

Finally, I included some final thoughts after using this room for a little over a month. It might be helpful for a new mom like myself or someone who wants some fun nursery inspiration! 〰️
