Oldie but goodie here! This is one of my most loved projects and even got the attention of @studiomcgee for using their vases on the mantle! (I think the dog helped!!) If you have a non-working fireplace & need to spruce it up - this is the project for you!! This can help you update your living room on a budget. Since this is a neutral and organic look, it goes with so many styles. Here are the steps I used to achieve this look: **I used a foam board from @loweshomeimprovement cut to fit the fireplace to keep it insulated & painted it black. **I grabbed project wood slices from @hobbylobby and used wood glue to attach them to the foam. (pro tip: lay out your pattern before adhering to make sure you don’t have any big gaps!) **let it dry and gently squeeze into place - the fit should be snug because of the foam & it should stand on it’s own! If you plan to give this a shot, I’m an open book if you have questions!
