These faux green stems surprised me! They come with 4 extra long stems, I’m using only 4 in this vase and they’re very full.

The color description may throw you off, but these are the orange color. There are bits of orange on some of the leaves that give it a more realistic look.

I made the skirt for our console in the dining room several years ago out of painters drop cloth. A quick and easy, no sew solution to hide a piece of furniture I didn’t love. I’m a firm believer that creating a home and finding your style takes time. I also believe in decorating your home for different seasons of your life. I added a rug to our dining room for the first time EVER since having kids. It’s something I always knew I wanted, but preferred to wait until they were a little older. Cleaning spilled food from a rug every time we ate there just didn’t sound like a good time to me.

While it took over 12 years to get to this new season, I’d say this rug was totally worth the wait! What are your thoughts about decorating differently depending on the season of life you’re in?

Made the easiest change in the dining room to usher in the change of seasons. Swapped my white taper candles for ones with a warmer tone, and then replaced my green leaf clipping with dried corn stalk tops 🌽 Try saying that three times real fast!! I’ll wait! I’m sure they have an official name, but I have no clue what they are. After the stalks went bad from last years’ Fall porch I cut them off before placing them at the curb. The hoarding of dried things benefited me after all!
