It’s SUCH an easy mistake to make when renovating your kitchen or designing a new one! Make sure you are picking the right SIZE hardware for your cabinets. This is especially important to keep in mind if you have different sized cabinets in your kitchen. The 1/3 rule is a great starting point when selecting hardware. Basically, you want to choose a pull that is about 1/3 as wide as the cabinet drawer face. Why is no one talking about this green paint color? 🤯 At Ease Soldier is the perfect serene green and we are obsessed with how it turned out in our James Island flip. In the office, we painted the ceilings, trim, and two of the walls in At Ease Solider, and covered the third wall in grasscloth. We usually don’t love accent walls but made an exception when we came across this @thibaut_1886 grasscloth wallpaper 🤪 In the dining room, we painted the ceilings, trim, and all walls in At Ease Soldier. How to make painting less of pain: use the right tool for the job💡 If you have small paint projects coming up, like painting an accent wall, doors, trim, or even furniture, a handheld sprayer is so worth it. The finish a roller or brush gives just doesn’t compare to one you will get from a sprayer 🤌🏻 We found this handheld sprayer easy to set-up and use when painting some French doors. The overspray was very minimal which was amazing. A few tips: ✔️ You would not use a handheld sprayer to paint a whole room. This one holds a quart of paint at a time. ✔️ Make sure you have a surface you can practice on (like an old cardboard box) to get the right pressure. ✔️ If you have a large bucket of paint, pour it into a smaller bucket first instead of pouring directly into the sprayer. ✔️ MAKE SURE YOU PREP YOUR AREA - this is key with any sprayer. Let’s prep a bathroom for paint ✨ I don’t normally help with this, but I figured how hard can it be? 😅 First of all, I am not an expert or a painter by trade, but here are a 3 tips/products that helped me stay sane during this tedious process and (hopefully) protect this beautiful bathroom during the painting process! My tips/must-have items: 🎨 Always start with a tidy workspace. Shop vac the area completely so there is not any loose debris. If you’re using a paint sprayer, any dust, etc. will end up on the walls. Then, lay down floor protection. I prefer heavier duty floor protection because I find the craft paper consistency tears so easily. 🎨 I found this pre-taped plastic sheeting dispenser. At first, it was a huge mess because I didn’t realize that this dispenser had a blade and I was using a knife. Don’t make this mistake! Once I got on a roll, it was super easy to use. 🎨 Use a high quality painter’s tape. I like frog tape. It’s super hot and humid here and I can trust it to stick. Also, it adheres to rough surfaces better than other painter’s tapes I have tried. #houseflipping #renovation #homerenovation #realestateinvestor #diy #housepainting #construction
