simple layout changes can make a huge difference in the looks and functionality of a space! if you swipe to see the before photo, you'll notice that the toilet was the centerpiece of the kitchen in the original layout of the #startercondo. we closed up a doorway and ran cabinets along the new wall, increasing the amount of storage and counter space in the kitchen. the bathroom door was relocated so you entered through the laundry room. personally, we found this floor plan much more appealing. our blog with more details and sourcing info is coming soon. #dwelloctober

are you team open shelving or do you prefer everything tucked away behind cabinet doors? we opted for open shelves along one wall in the kitchen of the #startercondo. this allowed for more light to stream in through the windows, creating an open, airy feel. #dwelloctober

since space was limited, we decided to remove the tub in the #startercondo and create a beautiful walk-in shower as a focal point. the updated bathroom featured retro black and white flower hexagon tile for the floors and classic white subway tile for the shower walls. swipe to see the before! #dwelloctober

it's hard to believe that the #startercondo project was nearly 5 years ago! when designing, we strive to choose timeless finishes that will stand the test of time. the gray cabinets, white subway tile, and beadboard wall paneling used in the kitchen are traditional finishes that are just as fashionable now as they were when the house was originally built in 1917! #dwelloctober
