It’s official: I dove into the flared leg trend. I tried on like 14 pairs of these y’all and these are hands down the best. So cute, fun, and very flattering IMHO (the proportions of the flare make other parts of your body look more balanced if you are into that).

The blue shirt I’ve had forever from Lululemon (I love the finger holes). The vest is super cute (I love the shoulders coming out farther than my arms) and has big old pockets with zippers for doggy bags and my phone.

Nabbed my DREAM puffy winter coat from Varley. It’s lightweight but warm and the length is perfect for keeping my whole body toasty during early morning farm chores (and it’s cute enough to wear all day, too). Love it paired with a cozy jumpsuit, an oversized beanie, and some cute socks.

That quarter-zip fleece is a really good color and cut. Not all browns are created equal and I think a lot of it has to do with the texture of the fabric within the brown family. This is nubby and cozy and has side zippers as well as the front satin-y detail. Also, the leggings are my hands down favorite for both workouts and around the house (I wear a medium and they are even very comfy for the bloated days of the month – they don’t cut in at all and have a really wide and soft waistband). These will forever be on my “favorites” list.

Gift idea: luxe, comfy pajamas. (You know, NICE PJs, like the ones they’d never buy for themselves.) Anyway I’ve been dying to give these Skims a try despite their price tag and they did NOT disappoint. Oh my goodness the fabric was ribbed and so soft, with stretch and still really drape-y (it’s weightier so it drapes really nicely). We decided that these were by far the most flattering. I mean, Kim Kardashian cares about looking good/sexy. I just wish I had ordered a medium. These fit but the waistband was just a bit too noticeable when I was wearing them (meaning I could feel it, even though they didn’t cut in). If you want to splurge on a pair that is super flattering in a subtle way, these would be my pick. They are a bit thicker (but not thick) than the rest of them but still really lightweight (they cling in places, but since they are thick enough you can’t see bumps underneath and so soft that the kids were begging to snuggle with me).

I LOVE these PJs - they’re soft, the fabric feels thick (in the good way - they feel really high-quality), and they’re so comfortable. Switching to pajama sets has made a huge difference in how pulled together I feel all day long - highly recommend trying it out!

This is a little more “me” right now and likely something I’m going to wear a lot in the next two months. I can’t say enough about these vests and I want to put it out there in the universe a few more times – I THINK I SHOULD DESIGN A LINE OF WALKING CLOTHES. I have extremely specific ideas on what makes something excellent for lifestyle walking (not competitive walking) to look cute/cool/comfortable and yet have the necessary bells and whistles to get the job done (the RIGHT pockets, breathability, layerability, versatility, etc). That’s all to say that this vest is EXCELLENT and I’ve been wearing it a lot on my morning walks (before this heat wave). It’s a great fall layering piece.

BIG fan of this lightweight romper from Vuori. It’s breezy, so easy to pack, and so flattering (the waist band feels great - not too tight, so you can definitely eat a good meal in this and still feel comfortable). The pockets, the cut, the length of the shorts - it’s a winner, folks :)

A swimsuit that can double as a body suit? I’M THERE. This sleeved zip-up suit is awesome for serious water activities (like, if you want to jet ski or boogie board, this has such secure coverage!) but it also looks so cute worn with shorts! I ended up wearing it to our neighborhood’s Pride parade, too. Happy Pride!

I found this super cute striped shirt dress at Target last week and grabbed it for the Real Simple shoot we had at our house. (Stay tuned for the September issue!) The thicker stripes make it look expensive and there’s a cute shoulder detail. When I want to give myself a little more shape, my new thing is to just tie a sweatshirt around my waist. Also, it’s not thin like poplin, it holds its shape well. But the shape is definitely oversized so don’t size up! Such a good spring/summer dress, but it could do double duty as a sweet coverup!

All my lady friends freaked over this outfit when I debuted it. I think it looks like cute pajamas but I guess that’s in and the level of enthusiasm was high with my team who is all far younger and cooler than I am. So yes, this is an extremely comfortable, cute, and casual outfit that I will be wearing a LOT this summer. I would buy the top on its own TBH and wear it with Levi’s shorts which is more my jam, but obviously, these cotton boxer-looking things are far more comfortable and I guess more on trend so win/win. She’s comfortable and cool!!

I found the dorkiest (remember dorky is cool now) house shoes that I wear for all my household tasks (which are all day every day these days). I'm a massive winter supported slipper/house shoe fan, but what about the summers when our feetsies get too warm? I can NOT walk around the house without arch support and due to my job I do a lot of walking. So I was in Hood River at a great outdoorsy store and tried on these Tevas which were successfully marketed as walking on clouds, so I tried them on and literally couldn't not get them. They are a perfect mix between sneaker (supportive), house shoe and sandal (waterproof). I'm trying to not wear them outside so i don't track dirt inside, but they are obviously great as summer hiking sandals, too. I never knew how Oregonians hiked in sandals but now I do. These are just so supportive and comfortable. And again, I think their chunkiness is on that fence between dorky and cool - a fence I'm living on these days.

I bought this as a swimsuit coverup and yet I wore it on a really hot day to clean the house and again to run errands. It’s so lightweight (gauzy), flowy, and drapes perfectly with so much volume (but really short). We found it hilarious that I was trying to strip-tease a sexy shoulder as if I had some sort of “come hither” swimsuit underneath when it’s literally a gingham high-necked full but coverage one piece (hey felllllllaaasss!!!). The suit is GREAT though, (the new Andie Malibu in Gingham). The sandals are Reef and have a cork bottom that is super comfortable. If I’m being honest they are more comfortable than the Birkenstocks that take a while to form (what with the bunion and all). These babies really highlight my spray tan/orange toes.

Sandal lovers: we have officially entered our Teva phase. I wore these almost every day in Costa Rica because they are so comfortable/supportive, breathable (obviously) and I think they look cool (while they don’t mask my bunion, the location of the strap de-emphasizes it). LOVE.

I didn’t need this Nike pullover, but it was just so flattering. This could be because I was in Dicks Sporting Goods trying on new yoga clothes (I’ve had a huge yoga resurgence, y’all – obsessed again). However, I was so unbelievably horrified by the shopping experience (the most unflattering lights/mirrors) and this still looked so cute/flattering that it felt like a worthwhile investment.

Love this workout tank and these comfortable leggings. I usually wear this more for weight lifting in our bedroom (until we figure out where we are going to put all our home gym stuff) and like it for more mellow Peloton rides (not the HIIT and hills ones). These pants are also excellent, in a dark camo which is flattering and forgiving.

I’ve been buying and loving Target’s cute pajama sets for years now because they are so soft and drape so well. Again, with underwear and pajamas with any sort of elastic waist I like to size up (these are small but I returned for mediums). These come in other colors but my Target was out – there are lots of cute pajama sets to choose from. Also YES, that is a sneak peek into my bathroom and I love it so very very much and can’t wait to show you!

How cute is this cozy Target jacket? It has this brown trim detailing that mimics the look of leather, a super high collar that is oversized and very cool, and it’s just as soft on the inside as it is on the outside. Currently on sale for $33 - run, don’t know walk!

Let’s talk @vuoriclothing. This is the patterned version of their famous Clean Elevation legging and I LOVE IT. It’s a bit slicker, but still extremely comfortable and very, very flattering. I can wear them all day every day – they don’t cut in anywhere and the subtle pattern makes them forgiving – it shows nothing underneath. I can’t HANDLE when pants are thin and you see all the bits and bobs – the fabric technology is so much better now so don’t settle for this if you don’t want to.

And the top - I rarely wear a tank top because I’m self-conscious, which is dumb, but I’m more comfortable covering them up. I recently started back into a heated yoga class and I need to wear less clothes so I don’t DIE. As far as the tank/sports bra – this one has a support shelf and shaping pads (that don’t add too much bulk, they just give your ladies a nice shape). I love the cut of this in front and back – it doesn’t cut in in the armpit at all (I’m wearing a medium) and I like a racer back. The tank stays down more than any other (you can watch some yoga moves in stories if you want to see it in action). I’ve historically not worn super cute matching sets because I don’t love wearing really tight or small clothes, but this set is so cute and it changed my mind quickly and made me honestly just feel a little better/cooler.
