✨This is my favorite room in the house. Not only because I love to cook, but because I put my whole heart into designing it. I didn’t want my kitchen to look like every other kitchen out there.
✨Since our house was build in 1930, I wanted to stay true to the time period, but also have modern touches. We re-purposes the original pine floors as the ceiling and used a flower hex tile for the flooring. The pendants from @anthropologie are the show stopper!

✨Tomorrow is our big photo shoot with Azalea Magazine. Our house will be the feature in their upcoming issue. This historic house started as a headache and turned into the most beautiful home, after so much blood sweat and tears. If walls could talk!

Our house is incredibly unfinished. I make constant to-do lists for the many things that need to be done or fixed. I don’t do well in the mess. But I was recently reminded that there is beauty in the mess. Diamonds come from coal. Growth comes from tension. So here, as I sit in my unfinished house, I’m falling in love with the mess and the endless possibility that it brings.

Well it’s hard to believe we move into our new house Tuesday! We have been working day and night to get it ready. Our crew is amazing, but my husband gets the award for MVP. He’s gone before the sun is up and works until the wee hours of the night. It will be a breath of fresh air to be IN, settled, and celebrate Christmas in this home. Gracie’s room was the first to be finished! We refinished the floors, painted, and hung this gorgeous light from @anthropologie. I hope she feels love oozing out of every square inch of this room!

Our electrician starts rewiring our new house this week! That means it’s time for light fixtures. I’ve picked out a few that I love. The Etched Lantern Pendants will go in the kitchen, the Gatsby Light will be in Turner’s bathroom, the Eloise Lights are for Gracie’s bathroom. And I HAD to get the tassel chandelier for her bedroom. Can’t wait to see these in the flesh!
