One of my fave DIY projects of 2023! Although I made this one, I linked similar and will teach you here how I made it:
How to build a vintage bench ↓
Vintage benches are typically listed between $400-$900! HOW?! I’m going to show you how to make one with just two pieces of lumber.🤍
WHAT YOU NEED:
1 2x4
vintage lumber for top
sand paper
wood glue
screws
stain of choice
L brackets
STEPS:
1. Visit a local lumber yard and pick out a piece of wood for the top of your bench. I got mine at Vintage Timberworks
2. Measure how tall you would like your bench, mine is 12 inches high. Make sure to account for the thickness of the top piece when calculating the height of your legs
3. Purchase a 2x4 and cut two 12 inch pieces for the legs. If you go to Lowes or Home Depot, they can cut it for you for free!
4. Sand + stain your bench legs
5. Attach the legs to your bench using L brackets, wood glue, and wood screws.
6. Make sure everything is level
My bench is for decorative purposes and nobody will be sitting on it so our brackets work perfectly to support it🤍
