September Reading Wrap Up! 📖💙 Here are all the books that I read this month & also the ratings of each. ⭐️ I think I had a pretty good month and enjoyed all the books I read. I posted a few book reviews for these so you can see those here on my IG. 📚 I'll be posting my October TBR soon. I can’t wait to share all the spooky,witch & fall books I plan to read. 😊

💭Thoughts💭

Hook, Line and Sinker was the cutest. I really loved this book and it felt good that this was the last book I read of the summer. I was so excited to read this one especially after reading about them in It Happened One Summer. I was looking forward to diving back into Westport. I’m not sure why I could picture the setting so much even though I’ve never been to a place like it. I did however live the small town vibes of it and all the characters.

Speaking of characters, I love how driven Hannah was and trying her best to reach her goals. It felt like this was more character driven, lessspice but more angst and build up to the plot. Fox was just so good and I need to add him to more ever growing list of book boyfriends. I really loved Fox and Hannah's honest relationship with each other and just found myself rooting for them so much. I loved the progress of their relationship and it was too slow or instant. Also love the friendship her and Fox had first. Like it must be nice having someone like that. Maybe that’s why I love the friends to lovers trope.

I may have liked this more than It Happened One Summer. I don’t know why. Maybe because I relate to Hannah and her love for music and vinyls.

Plus the epilogue of this was really cute and felt it was a good end.

Such a good book and loved both of the book. I loved that I read both books and have reviews for each. 💙📖

Hook, Line & Sinker 🪝💙 Here’s to my last summer read. ☀️ This was the last book on my summer TBR and I finished it last week. I can’t believe I finished all the books I put on my summer TBR list. 📚 I thought I wouldn’t be able to do it but I did. 😊 I really enjoyed this and will be posting my book review soon! 🖋 Now I’m onto fall and cozy books. I’ve read 4 books this week which is insane but I was on a reading kick. 📖 I have so many more books on my fall TBR than summer so I have to start now if I want to get them done before that season ends. 🍂 What was the last summer book you read? 🤔

Target Book Shopping! 📚🎯 With the Target sale going on right now. I couldn’t resist to make several trips and pick up new books and ones I’ve had on my radar that I wanted to buy. 📖 I love book buying and it makes it even better when there is a sale. 💸 Today was the last day and I had to go back for some last minute shopping. 🛍 A haul is coming soon of all the books I bought! 😂 What was the last book you bought at Target? 🤔

The Roughest Draft
by Emily Wibberley & Austin Siegemund-Broka

💭Thoughts💭

The Roughest Draft is a story of two co-authors forced to reconvene after years of estrangement & write 1 last best-seller. Katrina and Nathan were literary stars until it all came to an abrupt stop & they didn't speak to each other for 3 years.

I loved that it had dual POVs & timelines so we get to see a slow reveal of the cause of the rift between them. There was some angst and built-up tension plus feelings they had never said out loud except what they had written into their books. It shaped their plot lines & defined their characters. The main characters were destined to be together, but something stopped them. The authors wanted us to find the answer by exploring each character's perspective & I loved reading it to find out the why.

I really did love so many aspects of this book, especially the concept of the plot. I loved the setting of the Florida vacation house & though I’ve never been the authors really made me feel like I was there as the 2 authors in the book were writing the final manuscript

I can describe this as a slow-burn, forced proximity, friends-to-enemies-to-lovers romance. It has angst & emotions of taking that leap from a platonic relationship to something more plus all the pressures of literary success added in.

I love books about book people, so I was intrigued. I’ve discovered I’m a fan of the forced proximity trope from the books I read lately & throw in second chance romance & I think I’ve found a new trope to swoon over.

It's true what they said when I stumbled upon this that it had the same vibe of Beach Read. That’s why I picked it up.

I recommend this as it reminds me of Beach Read & a mix of People We Meet on Vacation (just with more angst!) So if you’re a fan of those 2 Emily Henry books than for me it’s similar.

The last of summer reading! ☀️📚 I’m on my last few books before I move on to other kind of reads. 🥰 By the time of this post I’ve read all 4 of these and have 1 book left to read that is very summery. 📖 I can’t believe I got through all the books I intended to read for the summer! ⭐️ What is your last minute summer read? 🤔

Book Haul Selfie! 📚📷 Here is my latest book haul. 💸 Every month I say I’ll buy only a few books but then I find more I want to buy and then all of a sudden I blink and end up with a stack of new books. 💙 I don’t regret it though. 😂 I’m a sucker for buying new books and it’s been an expensive hobby but makes me so happy. 🥰 I already have a few in my cart that I’m about to buy. 🛒 Do you have a book buying problem too? 🤔

Transitional Hopefuls aka my September TBR List! 💙📚 I’m in a bit of a transitional period for my reading list this month. I still have a few summer books I need to read and I’m not in the mood for fall books just yet. I’ll wait until October for more mystery and thriller reads. I think I nailed the perfect reading list for the month though. 😊 I’m super excited for these and can’t wait to get through this.

💗 Funny You Should Ask was a purchase I got last month and since then I’ve wanted to read it so onto the list it goes. 💕

💔 The Summer of Broken Rules was another purchase and it sounded like something I was interested in so can’t wait to get into this. ❤️

🍃 Heartstopper sounds cute and I heard the show was amazing so I had to read the book before I watch it. 📺

🫙 A Thousand Boy Kisses is something I am looking forward to and I hear it’s so emotional so I’m going to prepare myself for a bawling session. 😭

💙Reminders Of Him was part of my book haul as well and I haven’t read a Colleen Hoover book in a while so looking forward to diving in and being emotional with this too. 🤍

🗣 Archer’s Voice was another Booktok pick for me and sounds like something I would enjoy as well. I hope it lives up to the hype and I’m excited to have this on the list. 💙

🕹 The Inheritance Games is something I’ve been wanting to read and I think this month will be the perfect time for me to see what all the hype is about. 💚

🪝 Hook Line & Sinker was on my TBR last month and I didn’t get around to reading it so I’m putting it back this month and hopefully will get to it. ⛴

It Happened One Summer

💭Thoughts💭
This book was SO FREAKIN CUTE! I really enjoyed reading this plus I love a good grumpy x sunshine/enemies to lovers. The characters were lovely. I think Brendan Taggart was quite the man and tell me why I want a broody fisherman. He’s quite the guy and I loved his ruggedness.

Piper's character was quite the quirky one. I love that she reminded me of Alexis from Schitt's Creek and she was my fave on the show so I really liked Piper. Her relationship with her sister Hannah was also so enjoyable. I love the character growth too and she really proved herself.

Piper and Brendan's relationship didn't feel forced, andthey had chemistry from the very beginning that was fun tofollow along. It didn’t take too long for their relationship which I love when that happens. Sometimes I like a slow burn and sometimes I want them to be together right away. This was the perfect amount of time for me.

The setting was just amazing and it made me want to visit a small town fisherman village. The author described it so well and made me feel like I was actually there. It was quick-paced, easy to understand and follow and most of the time. I got lost reading this and love when that happens.

I just got the second book in the mail so I’m looking forward to reading Hook, Line and Sinker!

Bookshelfie! 📖📚 Here is what my current bookshelf looks like. 👀 I definitely have added quite a few new books since the last post. 💙 Another fave hobby of mine is rearranging it. I’m not sure how to organize them yet. I was thinking a rainbow one but then I’m not sure if I want to do it by trope. 💗 Please give me advice on what I should do next! 💛 What is a fun way you would rearrange this? 🤔

My Absolute Favorite Books! 💛🧡💙 This year I discovered Emily Henry and her books have my whole heart! ❤️ I’m so glad it was so hyped up on Booktok or else I wouldn’t have been influenced to read them. 📖 I love her characters and the storylines. I get why everyone loves her and so do it. January and Gus are my favorite book couple but all of the couples were worth reading. I enjoyed spending my summer reading these 3 books. I can’t wait to read her next one to come out. 💗 Out of the three, which was your favorite? 🤔

Book Lovers

💭Thoughts💭
I love this book! ❤️ I mean I loved all 3 of Emily Henry’s books but this was absolutely amazing. It was definitely my second favorite because I can’t replace my love for Beach Read.

I was in love with the small town romance of this book. I loved the setting and them actually acknowledging the cliches of it. This reallyreminded me of one of those hallmarkromcom movies and I’m such a sucker for those kinds of things. It’s also like Gilmore Girls as well. It felt like it had some similarities and I loved that. The town meeting, the saving of something in town and of course the bookstore. I could really picture this setting and love when it takes place in places like that.

Nora was a great female main character. I love that she was different than other girls I’ve read. I do like her personality and how strong willed she is. She knows what she wants and will get it. I love how career driven she is and determined.

Now for Nora and Charlie. I loved this couple. Iwouldn'tsay this was a enemies to lovers more like work rivals. I love the tension in the beginning andfrom the start they had a lot of banter which made them have so much chemistry. I was rooting for them and I did shed a tear at the end.

Overall I loved this book so much if you couldn’t tell! i thought all the characters wereboth lovable and funny and for the story so well.Ifyou're looking for a small town summer read this is definitely a book you should pick up and read. It was worth the 5 stars! ⭐️

People We Meet on Vacation

💭Thoughts💭
This was such a fun summer read. It’s friends to lovers and was so cute from beginning to end. I haven’t read too many with this trope but it intrigued me. I am fascinated with that type of love and falling in love with your best friend that would be my kind romance. if you love that specific trope with touch of a second chance romance as well than pick this book up as it’s perfect for that!

The characters are amazing. I love that Poppy is a travel blogger and seeing her career wise and figuring herself out was so nice to read as I’m going through something similar. Most of this book centered around Poppy Wright and her summers with her best friend Alex Nilsen. I enjoyed her perspective of traveling and how she does it. Alex is such a babe and perfect for Poppy! He has a special place in my heart and he is so patient and caring and I love that trait. I would need someone like that. Their romance is frustrating at times but that’s the point of the story so of course I followed it until the end. I absolutely adore this book though and glad I read it.

All of Emily Henry's books havea special place in my heart and I’m so glad I discovered her books. This was such an excellent read and I’m so happy I read this during the summer. It makes me want to travel again and see the world like Poppy and Alex.

Beach Read

💭Thoughts💭
This book is definitely my fave read of the year so far. That’s pretty good but it’s true. I am a sucker for hyped up anything from the internet and if I hear about something enough than I tend to investigate and if I’m curious enough than I’ll cave. Well as you can see I did and I’m so happy I listened to the hype. It was worth it.

So January Andrews and Augustus Everette are writers and were college rivals. January inherits her father’s beach house and is now living next door to him. I loved the summary and couldn’t wait to dive in. It’s something I knew I would love reading and I did.

I loved these characters and related so much to January. Plus how swoon worthy was Gus. He’s definitely my top book boyfriends I think.
