Did you know that Walmart has a line, Free Assembly, curated by designer Brandon Maxwell? It’s a line that I am constantly checking out for some fun pieces like this shirt dress. This dress is perfect for both resort season and for early spring transition wear. While I love a shirt dress, I often have trouble purchasing them because of the buttons and the inevitable “gapping” on the placket. But not this dress! While there is a smidgen of pulling, it’s perfectly fine to wear and not worry about it. (I am wearing a Medium) This dress is only $28, but the quality makes it feel more expensive. The material is thick enough so that you can’t see through it at all. There’s also a small detail that I really love. There is a button in the back of the collar to keep it in place. Details matter! Day 3 of my Chanel looks for less from Amazon. This dress is a lightweight (as far as warmth goes) but a heavier weight (for panty lines) sweater dress. It fits so nicely.

I love a good navy dress but it does come in other colors including black. You can’t go wrong!

Think of a sleeveless mock turtleneck or sweatshirt in a summer color. Add a hot pink belt to a black dress. I've been featuring Target outfits all this week in conjunction with Target Circle Week. This particular ensemble is not on sale, but it's still under $60. You can't beat that.

I love these brown satin pants because they are great from right now and I can already see me wearing them for Thanksgiving (too soon??). They are comfy, chic and have an elastic waist (which helped to prompt the Thanksgiving thought).

My halter top is also tops in comfort - I like that it's not clingy and it so flattering to the shoulders. Normally I would probably look to wear a more fitted top with these pants, but I like the loose, flowy, summer evening vibe they give together.

We love this one shoulder floral maxi dress. It's so feminine and flattering for both of us. One shoulder is on trend for this season and for good reason; it's such a pretty look on everyone.

We styled it pretty much the same. Dianne added the pink accents to draw out the pink in the pattern. You can wear this dress both belted and unbelted - it looks good either way.

You can save money and feel great about adding new pieces by shopping your closet!

I love this dress, but if I am being completely honest, it’s not a dress that I will wear often. But did I already mention I love it?

So, when it arrived, I made sure to try to style it with things I already owned in my closet. I knew for a piece like this, I didn’t wanted to invest in new shoes, new bag, etc. that would bring the cost of this outfit from $40 to a couple of hundred. Especially when there will only be certain occasions to wear it. But I will have it when I need it!

On the fence about a piece that you like but not sure how often you’ll wear it? See what you have in your closet that will make it a worthy addition to your wardrobe! And when the time comes, you won’t be saying “I wish I had bought that dress”!

Casual or a little dressier? Vote and help a girl out!

I will be hosting a small BBQ at my house, so nothing fancy. But I do like to be festive, especially on the 4th.

I lived overseas as a kid and as a result, I am extremely patriotic! So, you can be sure that I will be wearing red, white and blue - it’s just a matter of which outfit! 🇺🇸

It's also a great way to celebrate #nationalootdday (yes, there's a day for that!) This dress is under $40 and it comes in over 30 colors. So, even if you're not a fan of pink and orange like I am, there's got to be a color that you'll love too.

What I love about this dress is that it can be worn for going out to dinner, strolling the boardwalk or even as a cover up! So many ways to wear it.

Another feature to note is that the center straps are pretty substantial. Sometimes with a dress like this you have to worry about it slipping down but this dress stays in place. I am also able to wear a strapless bra with it as well.

How great is this sweater from Amazon? We love the black stitching accents - just adds a nice touch to make the sweater unique.

We styled it very similarly with the French tuck but as you can see, it looks just as good with short or pants AND with more a monochrome and contrasting look!
